| Answer: | Yes, I know first hand that this will definitely stop the 'helicopter inside the cab' drone that occurs when AFM kicks in. I have a 2015 5.3L with 3" Volant cat-back. There are different tones at different RPMs, but the annoying drone does not occur with AFM disabled. Replacing the stock exhaust means you lose the OEM flapper valve behind the muffler that prevents this drone. When I run with this disabler off, low RPM loads in Drive have a far more irritating cab drone. Further proven by driving in Manual mode (AFM auto-disabled when in Manual), this drone disappears. This is a great product that also improved my my fuel efficiency by almost 2 mpg. Highly recommend. |
