| Answer: | Think of an air conditioner as a vacuum cleaner. A vacuum sucks in dirt that has to be emptied somewhere. And air conditioner does the same thing with heat. It sucks in the heat and then dumps it somewhere else (typically outside). Air in the room is sucked in by an air conditioner, the heat is removed and the air is put back into the room with the heat removed (which is why it feels cool). The heat that was removed from the room then has to be dumped somewhere - typically outside. No air conditioning occurs without the removal of the heat. Air conditioning is not a matter of making the air cool. The air is cool because the air conditioner removed the heat from it. This is a industrial/commercial portable A/C unit that delivers the actual stated amount of cooling and has been tested and certified to ASHRAE standards. Residential and consumer equipment is not rated, certified or tested and you are essentially trusting the manufacturer to be honest in their stated capabilities. Residential/Consumer equipment may last 6-months to 2-3 years if you are lucky. We have working MovinCool equipment that dates from the Clinton administration (early 1990's).
