Question: How will this hold up to heat
Answer: It works like any other foil based insulation, as a heat barrier. I don't know where you intend to put it, but if you put it in the interior where it belongs, the heat will have to go through your floor pans or firewall...then the butyl....then the foil. It works. There might be better heat insulator out there designed specifically for that but this works well. If for some reason the sun is shining on it the black would naturally be a little warmer than metallic foil, but this stuff is generally hidden under carpet and behind door panels and stuff. The radiant heat shouldn't be coming from the foil side of the car
Question: How many of these should i order for an extra cab silverado. Want to do doors, floors, back wall
Answer: I cant give SXS experience, but I do have this stuff in my drag car and my 70's truck. It is 100% worth the money in both cases as far as sound and heat. I dont know exact temp drop in the drag car but header heat inside is now virtually non existent where before you would be a sweaty mess. I cant see this material molding at all but I cant say for certain
