Question: | why is this item 50% more than other sites |
Answer: | I don’t know what you’re talking about. Around six dollars per bottle is pretty cheap in my book! |
Question: | So a pack of three, I would be receiving 3 gallons correct |
Answer: | Yes, THREE, 3, gallons! I never heard of Castrol making any schlock. Can't touch this price at Walmart plus free shipping. Do it. Be sure to follow the owners manual to the T...Roy |
Question: | Suitable for Harley touring bike |
Answer: | Only oil related failures I have ever seen on HD engines is not enough oil, not changing the oil, not changing filter, along with poor maintenance. You can use anybodys diesel rated 5w40 or 15w40 Synthetic or conventional engine oil in a Harley Davidson engine safely just change it every 2500 or 3000 miles your not going to have any problems. This oil advertised I wouldn't be one bit afraid to use it in my harley Davidson engines. Harley Davidson says right in the maintenance manual if you cannot find our oil use a diesel or air cooled engine rated oil. The HD oil last time I checked was made by Citgo for HD Before that their oil was made by shell. Look at the API donut on this oil and decode it I am pretty sure that this oil will meet or probably exceed the requirements for your engine. As for some of the oils that are mentioned that have claims they are the cats meow and are "American Made" look close at them they don't have the API donut on their bottles they just make claims. I have ran Castrol conventional 15w40 diesel oil in freezing temperatures to 100+ degree heat in a twin cam engine and a Sportster engine with absolutely no problems so I don't see why this wouldn't work. |
Question: | Is this oil "energy conserving" or "resource conserving"? if so, suziki does not recommend this type of oil for a 2017 v-strom 650a |
Answer: | It’s wet clutch MA rated. Stick in the bike and she’ll like it |

User questions & answers
Question: | this one work with gasoline |
Answer: | I would not recommend it. It is way too heavy an oil for "modern" gasoline engines. It also has additives especially made for diesel engines and maybe not the right ones for gas engines. Remember, this isn't just 15W40, this is DIESEL 15W40. |
Question: | How many gallons are included on USD |
Answer: | Includes 3 - 1 gallon jugs (3 gallons total) |
Question: | Is this a synthetic oil |
Answer: | No it is just regular 15W-40 motor oil. |
Question: | Is this vecton 15w 40 semi synthetic |
Answer: | Hi. Yes, Vecton 15W-40 is a semi-synthetic product. |

Castrol EDGE is Castrol’s most advanced engine oil. It is a premium full synthetic oil that is designed for consumers who demand the best performance from their cars. Castrol EDGE is recommended by leading car manufacturers. Castrol EDGE is engineered with fluid titanium technology that physically changes the way the oil behaves under pressure. As a result of increased demand for performance and fuel economy, pressures in today’s engines have almost doubled over the last three decades. Greater pressure means more stress for the oil and the potential for more friction. As metal to metal contact increases, it causes wear and reduces performance. Underneath the hood, the pressure can reach 10 tons per square centimeter. That’s like five cars resting on a high heel relying only on a micro thin layer of oil for protection. So you need a strong oil to reduce friction, and to help increase horsepower and fuel economy. To combat the increased pressures faced in today’s engines, Castrol EDGE is engineered with fluid titanium technology that physically changes the way the oil behaves under pressure. Castrol’s patented titanium technology provides documented performance in friction reduction, anti-wear and deposit control protection. The titanium-based technology ensures performance and strength.
- 42 percent better rating on fighting power robbing deposits
- Superior engine protection vs conventional and synthetic blend oils
- Superior performance against deposits, wear and oxidation; Bottle Color: Black
- Meets the needs of Honda, Toyota, Acura, Lexus and other vehicles where 0W-20 grade is recommended
- Exceeds ILSAC GF-5, API SN, ACEA A1, ACEA B1
User questions & answers
Question: | Is this wet clutch certified? Wondering if I can use this in a 2005 Arctic Cat |
Answer: | I have been using full synthetic oil in my 98 Silverado 5.7. I now have 364k miles with no engine issues at all. I'd recommend it for anything that takes 5w30 |
Question: | Is this truly fully Synthetic or is it a synthetic blend? If it's fully synthetic - whats the advantage of Castrol EDGE Extended Performance 0W |
Answer: | SAE refers to the grading system. There are actually thicker Euro 5w-30 oils, but this is a thin 5w-30 for American and Asian cars. This particular blend is the latest additive formulation for GDI / turbo engines, it should be one of the best products on the market. |
Question: | is amazon motor oil apao |
Answer: | "Approved - GMdexos1™ supersedes GM-LL-A-025, GM6094M and GM4718M" This is indicated on the 5W-30 Castrol Edge High Mileage data sheet, dated 09Nov15. On their latest data sheet dated 20Sep17, this approved statement is no longer indicated. 1 quart size or 5 quart size makes no difference. If the product was made after 20Sep17 then it is not likely to be approved for engines requiring dexos1. I would safely assume the bottle labeling will reflect whether or not using this as a suitable substitute over dexos1 type oil is acceptable. The picture is old and will, or should, be changed so their is no confusion. |
Question: | Is this a group IV oil |
Answer: | Castol says it meets the spec, and Ford SVT has approved Castrol 5W50 for use in the GT500. I use this oil in my 2013 GT500. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Could this oil be used in a regular gas powered generator |
Answer: | Must have been a misprint. I ordered two units so I could get ten quarts. Ended up buying 24 quarts. |
Question: | The description says pack of 6 but last time I purchased it was a case of 12- and the weight for 6 would not be as described, is this a typo |
Answer: | Good luck on finding any more of that around. I have been and still am ride several 2-stroke motorcycles for many years. Not seen this on the shelves anywhere. |
Question: | I'm looking for old style Castrol R ..... made from castor beans ... does this oil still exist |
Answer: | Yes, it is a blue dye. This oil is a good product. You will not be disappointed. |
Question: | Does this have a colored dye in it, if so what color |
Answer: | Hi. From what is shown in the owner’s manual for the 150cc gy6 scooter, the oil recommendation is a 10W-40 synthetic oil. Castrol GO!10W-40 4T is not a synthetic motor oil. Castrol POWER1 4T 10W-40 would work well in this vehicle. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this oil handle high temperature |
Answer: | I don't know what you feel high temperature means. I have used it in an engine that ran as high as 100C without loss of performance. |
Question: | Can I use it for a toyota corolla |
Answer: | I've only used this in my 2010 Corolla s |
Question: | so whats the differrence or benefit of this over the other castrols |
Answer: | It was the least expensive 0w/20 good quality oil I could find at the time. Good good reviews, so I got it.Not sure if it's any "better" than any other good oil. You might find more answers at that website that talks about engine oil...........I think it's "Bob is the oil guy" ..........or something like that. |
Question: | Is this a synthetic, conventional or blend, base oil product |
Answer: | Not truly. It is a group 3 "synthetic" that uses conventional oil and refines it (via processes like hydrocracking) and in the US can be called synthetic but like most synthetics which are group 3 could not be called synthetic in many other countries like Germany for example. Those oils need to be group 4 which use P.A.O. basestocks or group 5 which use Ester basestocks. By the way since this oil is mainly concerning itself with oil sticking to metal Ester basestocks are naturally excellent at adhering to metal surfaces. There are differences between group 4 and 5 oils. A major one is that Esters are hygroscopic (absorb water) while P.A.O. are hydrophobic (do not absorb water) in practical terms it could relate to seal swell. True synthetics have very consistent molecule structure an as such do not need V.I. additives to try to stabilize viscosity over time. True synthetics maintain that on their own. As should be obvious by now there is no simple answer to what is "best". I use group 3 synthetics in my street muscle cars. Companies have rebates multiple times a year for months. I take advantage of those. If the oil is not as cheap on Amazon the big W store has low prices. Right now one can buy Pennzoil Platinum Ultra (their best) for $20/5quart jug. The rebate is $10. A good price. Mobil 1 E.P. is $25 and a E.P. filter $9. The rebate for just the oil is $12. The rebate for oil and filter is $17. Another good deal. For my supersport motorcycles I use motorcycle specific Group 5 oils usually such as Motul 7100 (made in France). I urge everyone to learn about oils and be comfortable in their selections. Follow your vehicles manufacturers recommendations. If you read the fine print on any oil they pretty much make their claims then add to follow your manufacturers recommendations in oil specs and change intervals. We had a motor oil discussion here that went on over 4 years. The Bobstheoilguy site is still up and joining that is a great idea IMO |

Castrol 03095 GTX 20W-50 Motor Oil
Sludge can block your engine’s vital oilways like cholesterol and if untreated, can rob an engine of its power and ultimately its life.
Castrol GTX is a premium conventional motor oil that has been helping to extend engine life for over 50 years. It has evolved to meet the needs of consumers and vehicle manufacturers since 1968 and continues to innovate and remain a trusted brand today. Severe driving conditions such as heavy traffic, poor fuel quality, harsh driving conditions and exceeding oil change intervals can all cause the build-up of a thick, tar like substance called sludge.
If untreated, it can rob an engine of its power and ultimately its life. This oil is specially engineered to prevent the harmful build-up of sludge while protecting against new sludge formation better than tough industry standards.

Castrol 03057 GTX MAGNATEC 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil
Castrol GTX MAGNATEC has helped drivers to protect their engines for almost 20 years by delivering instant protection from the moment of start. The intelligent molecules in Castrol GTX MAGNATEC are specially formulated to cling to critical engine parts and to dramatically reduce engine wear.
Unseen Damage That's Eating Away At Your Engine
Did you know that up to 75% of engine wear occurs during warm up? Most oils drain from critical engine parts when the engine is turned off and need time to reach the peak protection temperature when turned back on. And with most car trips lasting 20 minutes or less, engines are exposed to wear for most of the trip.
Product description
Castrol EDGE is Castrol’s most advanced engine oil. It is a premium full synthetic oil that is designed for consumers who demand the best performance from their cars. Castrol EDGE is recommended by leading car manufacturers. Castrol EDGE is engineered with fluid titanium technology that physically changes the way the oil behaves under pressure. Castrol EDGE is 3X stronger against viscosity breakdown than the leading full synthetic and conventional motor oils* As a result of increased demand for performance and fuel economy, pressures in today’s engines have almost doubled over the last three decades. Castrol EDGE is 3X stronger against viscosity breakdown than the leading premium full synthetic and conventional oils*. *Tested in the ASTM D6278 test in the 5W-30 viscosity grade
- Advanced premium full synthetic motor oil to offer strength under extreme pressure
- Titanium strong for maximum engine performance
- Reduces metal-to-metal contact across a range of different driving speeds
- Protects the engine for the entire drain interval even under extreme pressure
- Decreases engine deposit formation to help maximize engine response
- Best full synthetic money can buy
