After a few weeks it will break in the pads will compress somewhat. I made the mistake of buying two large of a helmet. go by sizing chart for manufacturer and you cannot go wrong I bought another helmet and it's the perfect size too. |

You must also keep in mind that this helmet does not come eith goggles so you have to find a set that fits nicely or wear sunglasses. It can also be a bit of a pain to constantly put on and take off. |

| Answer: | I can say from personal experience that it does provide protection in case of a wreck. Certainly not the same protection as a full face helmet, it's designed to protect against wind and bugs and dirt. But I laid my bike down last weekend at about 30mph and I felt my face hit the ground, and upon inspection of the mouth piece I could see that it is scuffed from having hit the pavement. No doubt it saved some major pain to my face and maybe a few teeth. If you're wanting full-face helmet protection this is not designed for that, but at low speed impacts it does offer some protection. |

But, what i cam attest to, is that its a SOLID chin bar, its locked into place on both sides of the helmet and holds up real well to drops and accidental hits to the front. It seals up to the helmet almost seamlessly; I’ve had people ask me about how to go about getting a full face helmet like this one, without knowing it could be converted to a 3/4. Other than that, its DOT and ECE approved as a full face and 3/4. Thats the best answer I can personally give. |
