Question:	Are these bad quality or ok
Answer:	From tip end to tip end is 27". It is from where the handle grips go on the bar. Yes it is wide, but it has to be that wide to get the height, if you plan to ride in a more upright position. I went from a 3" rise to this one and sure can tell the difference in the position that I am in. I use Sram grip shift and I had to add about 1/2 inch to each side of the handle bar to get my hand brake lever to fit right on the handle bar. So yes it is wide, but if you use Sram grip shift OX you will probably need to extend it even further like I did. If you have some other shiftier you might be able to cut some of the handle bar off each side. Just make sure you have enough left to put your hand brake lever on it and it fits the right way. It also needs to be on the straight part to function properly. You can use a metal tube cutter to do the job and then file the end down. Hope this helps.

All in, the grip diameter is surely less than 2.2", but again, I do not understand what the grips have to do with installing brake levers, whose straps would go all around the handlebars and be tightened to itself by tension.
