| Answer: | I do not know if the standard seat has a slot between the rider and pillion but if it does then the instruction leaflet has instructions for fitting to 1998 and earlier bikes. Basically it says to remove the handrail fasteners to the rear fender then fit the reciever for the backrest using supplied bolts. Fit the seat then adjust to suit, tighten bolts and refit seat. The two page instructions are easy to follow and are helped by colour photos. |

It wasn't made for my bike but I had to come up with a solution so my wife could be comfy. On the Softails I think you have provisions for mounting it but it will need modification. That being said, you do have way better choices for your bike than this part and I would explore those options first. |
