14 best tail light tint spray
Tail light tint spray is a product commonly used in the automotive aftermarket to modify the appearance of a vehicle's tail lights. It is primarily related to the Lights, Lighting Accessories, and Automotive categories. Here is what you should know about tail light tint spray:
Purpose: Tail light tint spray is designed to change the color or shade of the tail lights on a vehicle. It is often used to give the tail lights a darker or smoked appearance.
Aesthetic Enhancement: Many car enthusiasts and owners use tint spray as a way to customize their vehicle's appearance and add a unique touch to the rear lighting. It can help create a sleek and customized look.
Variety of Colors: Tail light tint sprays come in various colors and shades, including clear, smoke, red, and other custom colors. This allows car owners to choose the tint that best matches their vehicle's overall aesthetic.
Application: Applying tail light tint spray typically involves cleaning the tail lights thoroughly, masking off any areas that should not be tinted, and then applying the spray in even coats. Proper application is essential to achieve a uniform and desired appearance.
Durability: The durability of tint spray can vary depending on the brand and quality of the product, as well as environmental factors. Some products are more resistant to fading and peeling than others.
Legal Considerations: It's important to be aware of local regulations and laws regarding the use of tinted tail lights. In some areas, excessively dark or non-reflective tail lights may be illegal and could result in fines or safety concerns.
Reversible Modification: Tint spray is generally a reversible modification. If a car owner decides to return their tail lights to their original appearance, they can remove the tint by using products designed for this purpose or by replacing the tail light covers.
DIY or Professional Installation: Car owners can choose to apply tint spray themselves as a do-it-yourself (DIY) project or have it done by a professional automotive shop.
Maintenance: Maintaining tinted tail lights involves regular cleaning and gentle care to prevent premature fading or damage to the tint.
Caution: While tail light tint spray can enhance the appearance of a vehicle, it's essential to exercise caution and ensure that the modification does not compromise safety by reducing the visibility of the tail lights to other drivers, especially in low-light conditions.
In summary, tail light tint spray is a product used in the automotive aftermarket to customize the appearance of a vehicle's tail lights. It offers car owners a way to add a personalized touch to their vehicles, but it should be applied with care and consideration for local laws and safety concerns.

Question: | Can I use this on by cars front badge, emblem, for a smoked look |
Answer: | All these naysayers! If you're talking about a chrome emblem and you want to "smoke" it to get a kind of black chrome effect I don't see why this wouldn't work. Just use some moderation so it doesn't turn out solid black. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used on the shield to block the sun |
Answer: | Umm no, unless you wanna ruin whatever you spray it on |
Question: | is this remobable if i dont like it |
Answer: | I made a big mistake and put a super thin coat on my LED factory headlights. The output was reduced so much that I removed the film from the headlight lens with carburetor cleaner. Spray a small amount on a rag and wipe off. Rotate the rag to a clean spot and do it again. Does not hurt the plastic headlight lens. |
Question: | Is it going to be stick on my car paint if I accidently paint it |
Answer: | Yes it will, be sure mask off any spots you don't want to get paint on within 2 or 3 feet of the lights your spraying. Paint in light layers and don't get to close with the can because it will run. If you do get overspray on the paint the only way to get it off it to wet sand it off. |
Question: | could I see through this if I spray it on a plexiglass lens for a helmet |
Answer: | No.. It looks opaque and sketchy. Like if you sprayed chocolate milk on it. Try window tint film or buying the tinted visor from the helmet manufacturer. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used on Jeep soft top windows |
Answer: | I don't know. The best way would be to test it on a similar piece of material. I will say that the paint spray was very thin and did not cover to my satisfaction. My intent was to tint a clear plastic faceplate bezel for a radio, but after trying it out on other clear plastic parts I wasn't happy. I ended up not using it at all. Your mileage may vary. |

- This is the only film on the market that can wrap ANY SHAPE. It is super conformable with heat. It was originally manufactured for hard-to-wrap surfaces, but the ease of install has professionals saving time on any headlight shape.
- This film is also self healing and scratches will go away with heat! Simply cut the vinyl to shape, and apply it to the surface. To make the vinyl conform to curves, simply heat with a heat gun or hair dryer, stretch and apply. Lastly, using a sharp blade, trim away excess from the headlight and you're done! its literally that simple!
- Made with automotive grade cast vinyl, these tints are 80% tinted smoke or 20% VLT. The adhesive is acrylic based which will not eat through plastic like other tints on the market. It is 100% chemical safe, and will not eat through headlight coatings or damage your lights.

User questions & answers
Question: | If i were to wrap my whole tail light , could i then cut out the center so my leds and some red stand out better than the rest of my lights |
Answer: | You can but remember you can permanently damage the plastic. I reccomend purchasing knifless tape, Vvivd has knifless tape available and so does 3M. Knifless tape will allow you to accomplish an idea or just about any custom design your looking to accomplish when cutting vinyl. Knifless tape is a product that has a durable string underneath the tape when lifted can release the string to cut through vinyl without using an exacto blade and run the risk of permanently damaging your lense, trim, or paint. Vvivid has afforable knifless tape and works great, i reccomend checking out what 3M has for knifless tape as well due to their variety. |
Question: | After I install the tint, will I still be able to take off my brake light cover with no problem, without messing up the tint |
Answer: | If you have screws that go through the outside of the light then take them out and form the tint into the pocket, then poke a hole for the screw(s). Duh |
Question: | Is this available without tint |
Answer: | whats the point without any tint ? |
Question: | Does this effect blind spot sensors |
Answer: | Blind spot sensors are in the bumper not lights |

Question: | What about the dodge emblem in the slimmest part of the track light? you have cut outs for that? i would just assume take the badge off and putty it u |
Answer: | There are no cut outs for it. There are four different pieces, left and right of the tail gate lights and then same for the taillights. Since there are no lights around the dodge emblem there is no need to black it out. |
Question: | Do you have a lighter tint? I live in Arizona and the law is that the brake lights should be at least 300 ft. visible |
Answer: | Unfortunately we currently do not as of now but we are working on adding more options. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this product removable |
Answer: | Yes, any tint is removable, this brand seems to be the "self-adhesive" which applies much like a sticker, you can heat it up with a torch to make it stretchy and bendy, but also like a sticker, you can just peel it off, there may be some residue that you can just scrub off lightly. |
- The thickest and most resistant headlight tint available. Highly resistant to scratches, rock chips and projected head from the headlight itself.
- Unique hex cell pattern is embedded into the tint and not just printed on the surface. Never worry about fading or scratching!
- Ultra-Clear Adhesive allows you to lift and reposition this tint multiple times without risking fingerprints, glue lines or marring. Dry application requires no messy liquids!
- New and improved vinyl formula developed in Canada reduces the risk of shrinking or peeling almost completely.
- Incredibly high gloss finish reduces the appearance of of the “orange peel” adhesive texture.
User questions & answers
Question: | Will one wrap cover head lights and tail lights? 2014 Kia Optima |
Answer: | I think a 60" roll is barely enough for the headlights, measure the length from the farthest corners of your headlight, add about 4 inches, double the total and see if it's enough. Those headlights are very long. You could heat the wrap to stretch it but you will distort the nice hex pattern. |
Question: | Received film with no toolkit. Returning. Anybody else |
Answer: | Can't remember if mine was supposed to. |
Question: | Will this fit my BMW x3 2005 2.5i |
Answer: | As long as the dimensions of your lights are smaller than the tint. This is a "universal fit" product and requires that you cut and fit. Heat gun highly recommended as well as watching some YouTube videos on dry tint application. |
Question: | What’s the optimum temperature for application of the film? It’s winter, I have a heat gun and my truck is under a non heated car port. Thanks |
Answer: | Not sure of what actual temp needed, I used my heat gun until the film because a bit stretchy and moldable. But you can over heat it. Use a small piece to practice to find the right temperature. |
