Answer:	As I recall, the ad says the sail is not waterproof; rain will pass through the "up" side. If you were to stand under the sail and shoot water from a hose upward, it would pass through from the bottom, too. It's just not likely that anyone would do that, since they'd get wet! You could loosen two corners or take the entire thing down and wash it with a hose. They do get dirty with bird droppings, leaves, and plain old dirt, so you'd want to wash it off occasionally.

1. Shade sail's measurement should be taken from corner to corner.
2. Approximate how much area you want to shade. Locate 4 mounting points, they can be roof, trees, poles, wall, etc.
3. Take measurement of the 4 mounting points, leave 0.5 ft to 1 ft space for the hardware kits between the shade sail and the mounting points.
4. Install the hardware kits on 4 mounting points.

Just measure the width and the height of your windshield. Since they are two individual panels, they can overlap in the center and can be held in place by flipping your sun visors down. Answer:	It seems like some sellers will let you specify, and this one may limit you to predetermined sizes. You have to just look at the various options.

Answer:	Yes. It's the same on either side except for the edging. The edges are folded over and stitched for reinforcement so depending on how its hung will determine whether its on top or bottom. Doesn't matter to me either way. It's good and strong it works great. I take it down most of the time when it rains. It adds weight to it obviously and makes it sag a little but goes back in place once it dries out.
Question:	can you see through it
Answer:	Depends on lighting conditions on both sides of the shade. It is not opaque. Shades about 80% so light comes through enough to burn you if under it long enough. Doubling up helps .

Answer:	Yes, you would. I got my own set-up from Home Depot, which might work better for you depending on your application. If you’re not too handy, get help. Make sure you can tighten as it stretches. Good luck!

Answer:	300n-500n is 68-115 lbs. Newtons are a force in metic as are lbs are in United States customary units.

Answer:	I wouldn't. Any fabric you cut would unravel. These are pretty sturdy. We have lots of wind and they hold up as they are.

Answer:	We purchased stainless steel cable at Home Depot with “locks” that allow the cables to be tightened. Cable was 32 cents/foot...not particularly heavy. Don’t remember strength of cable. We live near beach in FL and can have sudden high winds periodicallly. The shades performed very well.
