The pins (be careful they are very sharp) are made to push sideways through the carpet on the side of the console or directly below the back seat (if your car has carpet in that area). Answer:	the one time use is refering to the razor blade. the blade cannot be replaced, however it can be used several times to cut a seat belt untill the blade is to dull to cut the material. the most effective way to cut a seat belt is to hold tension on the belt and pull the blade at a 45 degree angle. when using the hammer to break glass. you would want to aim for one of the corners of the window. if you strike the center of the window, it will flex sightly and absorb energy causing it to be harder to break.

Answer:	No it does not...however it does come with a plastic piece that offers the option to (hear me out) screw it into, I'm assuming, your door or under the dash?? (I'm still trying to figure that out) To act as a "base" for the tool to snap onto.....think of the plastic piece that a new razor is attached to, in the package, its like that and the tool just snaps in place. You could easily swap 3m tape for the screws to avoid damaging ur vehicle. That being said, I prefer to keep mine in my consol right beside me for easy access. Wherever u store it, u definitely want it within reach and if its in the visor, that may make it difficult for let's say, your passenger to grab in the event you are knocked unconscious and their seat belt is locked up. In the console at least, its in between both the driver and passenger and easy to grab when panic starts to set in.

Answer:	I don't see any reason why it won't work on newer cars. I am driving a 2019 suv so I purchased this emergency window breaker for that.

Answer:	I think you first should determine what the windows are made of. Many office buildings have laminated glass windows, which have a sticky layer of stretchy plastic inside (same as a car windshield, but not a side or back window). These are very difficult to break through, even with a large hammer. Laminated is good for protecting people/things inside from burglars, flying debris in storms, etc, and for protecting people from falling out through them. However, since breaking in through one is difficult, so is breaking out through one. The windows should have a faint white imprint in one of the corners identifying if they are laminated or tempered safety glass (no label indicates plate or heat strengthened glass). Tempered should break into tiny pieces with a good bit of force, much like the side windows of a car, and is the kind of glass this hammer would work on. Plate or heat strengthened will break, but will fall apart in large sword-like shards, which can fall inward and cut you as you break it. This can be quite dangerous, but this kind of glass is not allowed for use in windows that go down close to the floor (fall-through and get sliced up hazard), thus not typically used in office buildings. This glass is what typical residential windows that start well above the floor are made of.

Answer:	I haven’t broken it open, but there is definitely some resistance when pressing the hammer against things. Awesome set! We tried the cutting end on an old baby car seat and it was much easier than I thought it would be. I started having fun practicing and my preschooler wanted to try. I was wary at first, but the blade is well covered, yet easily hooks a seatbelt. She's four and was able to slice through a tough belt as if it were paper! I haven't tried the hammer side yet, but I have no doubt it will serve its purpose. The handle is really light-weight but strong. You can certainly feel the weight of the hammer side, which would only help it to break glass.

Used these to get into my neighbors house after their alarm wouldn’t stop going off on vacation.

I bought these items used. I hope I never have to use it. It seems well built, solid and strong. The same items sell at Home Depot for three times the price.

Answer:	It comes with instructions, but no 'book' needed. I'm trying to find a way to velcro it to the side of the auti, in front of the door....for quick, easy access, rather than in glove box.

Question:	Has anyone used these devices in a real emergency situation? it seems like one has to hit the window in four corners in order to be able to escape
Answer:	I didn't. But, my son did; having crashed one of my cars, coming to a stop upside down (Volvo 240), across both lanes of a busy Interstate Hwy. Hanging in the seatbelt, he was unable to release the seatbelt. Since I had mount the hammer holder low in the dash console, it was in his reach, allowing him just enough reach to get it quickly, and cut the belt just as quckly. Didn't have to use the hammer, as the rear windscreen popped out on roll no. 4, allowing a quick escape. His only injury: a minor cut in his shoulder, when he fell into the roof, where some glass had gathered. He would tell you, that he walked away from a very sturdy/safe car; with a "quick release belt cutter," both being life-savers.;

There are many videos on youtube, just search the brand, product and model. It seemed to work very well in all of them. FYI about the vehicle rollover answer: Either you did not hit hard enough or they had bulletproof windows. The window breaking tip is universally effective across all brands. If you do not have the strength to stab it into breaking, hold it with the tip and cutter positioned by your pinky and smash.

Answer:	I'd say about 1/2", it should work well for that. I'll put my caliper on it and give you an exact dimension when I get a chance. I don't use it for the intended purpose either; but rather in case I need to cut away lines when flying a paraglider.
