I added a trunk release to the remote which required a separate relay purchase. The instructions do come with enough information to connect the system. I installed the system on a 1985 Monte Carlo. Good Luck! Worse case you pay a professional to install it. The most it should cost should be $150.00

Answer:	It would depend on the type of switch those areas would have, if any. Most vehicles will not have a factory switch for the hood, so you would need to add one. But this alarm allows for the doors and hood/trunk areas to be monitored while the alarm is armed. It will also have a slot on the alarm to hook up a additional shock sensor, but the alarm has a built-in shock sensor already. Also, along with a relay that can be wired up for the ignition kill.
