A CURT 5th wheel trailer hitch is the ultimate combination of towing power and smooth driving, but a CURT 5th wheel mounted on a 5th wheel roller turns this gentle giant into the ultimate in mobility too. If you have a short-bed truck, it can be difficult towing a large RV trailer, especially one with an extended front overhang. When you are towing a 5th wheel with a 6-foot truck bed, give yourself a little breathing room with a CURT 5th wheel roller. Our 5th wheel rollers mount easily onto a set of 5th wheel rails or a gooseneck adapter already installed in the bed of your pickup truck. CURT 5th wheel rollers feature solid construction and offer a sturdy mounting place for your 5th wheel hitch, ensuring that none of its towing strength is lost. CURT 5th wheel rollers are also true rolling units, meaning they actually roll on wheels that bear the weight of the trailer rather than simply moving on hollow rods as seen in competitive models. With a thick operating handle, the roller smoothly rolls the 5th wheel head forward and back, locking securely into each position as desired. CURT rollers also provide up to 12" of displacement as well, unlike the more common 10", to give you a wide range of motion and plenty of space to get your RV or other 5th wheel trailer around any turn. This 16K 5th wheel roller comes with a durable carbide powder coat to ensure the best possibly protection against scratching, chipping, rusting and UV damage. It has a towing capacity of 16,000 lbs. and is compatible with select CURT 5th wheel hitches and some competitive 5th wheel hitches.
- TURNING CLEARANCE. This 5th wheel roller is designed to provide a 5th wheel slider hitch solution. It provides 12 inches of rearward travel for additional turning clearance with short-bed trucks
- EASY TO INSTALL. This 5th wheel roller installs easily on any industry-standard 5th wheel base rails. They allow you to maximize the functionality of your truck bed, dropping into the 5th wheel rails
- VERSATILE. This 5th wheel roller is compatible with any CURT industry-standard 5th wheel base rails and most CURT 5th wheel hitch heads (sold separately)
- SOLID STRENGTH. This 5th wheel roller is rated for 16,000 lbs. gross trailer weight, allowing for a wide variety of towing applications (limited by lowest-rated towing component)
- DUAL-COAT. For dependable weather-resistance in your truck bed, this 5th wheel roller features a dual-coat finish of rust-resistant A-coat and a tough carbide black powder coat
User questions & answers
Question: | If I buy the slider and the intermediate plate will it fit a Reese head that is my question |
Answer: | I am not sure if the Reese head will fit. I would get ahold of a Reese Tech for that info. I have a slider/roller but I only used it once. I was able to turn and backup without any issues. We travel to Alaska last with our 5th wheel put on 9000 miles with no issues. I flat tire on truck. No problem. I would not buy a slider again. When slider is to rear on my truck you can't turn with the tailgate in. Hitch will hit tailgate. Good Luck |
Question: | Will this system work with the Curt Q |
Answer: | I don't believe it will. |
Question: | Will this head work with the e16 legs |
Answer: | I am new to this but I did a lot of research before I bought. These legs will fit this roller, but make sure they fit your truck bed too. I got a set of Reese legs (from another online marketplace that shall remain nameless!) to fit this unit and my truck that had been set up for 5th wheel when I bought it and they fit fine. The legs have to be specific to your vehicle. I also got my Curt e16 head unit from Amazon and they all fit together perfectly |
Question: | will this work on a 2018 ford f-150 with a 6.5 box |
Answer: | Yes, I have a 6.5' box and these are made for anything less than 8. However, you need to be sure it fits with the 5th wheel you are pulling as its max gross weight is 16K lbs. |

User questions & answers
Question: | im curious what the second picture is featured with this hitch. it looks like a standard tow hitch receiver. That does not come with this hitch |
Answer: | AMAZON has been the best place for me. shipping sucks with a heavy package though without it tearing up due to the weight. |
Question: | I have 2015 ram 2500 short box. Will it fit? Also what else do i need to buy |
Answer: | yes Curt has different models. This one is 20K PT#16035 kk |
Question: | lowest 20 k fifth slider, where do i find it i am not savy on these computers |
Answer: | Yes you can. It fits in both the toilet tank and microwave(best if you take the doors off the hinges). I recommend that you locate your breaker panel before microwaving it so that you can tape the correct breaker open as to ensure that the tools can dry properly. You’re welcome in advance! |
Question: | do you have this 5th wheel in 20k towing capacity |
Answer: | The case is the worst part of the whole kit. Either the tools will not go back into the poorly formed holders or they will not hold at all. The first thing I did was to put the tools into a tool box and throw the case away. |

Pivoting hitch head

Single-handle operation
Operating with just a single handle, the E-series 5th wheel hitch automatically locks, making the coupling process easier and more secure.
Versatile design
The E-series 5th wheel hitch mounts to all industry-standard base rails and has four height adjustment positions, allowing it to adapt to various truck bed wall heights.
How to select a 5th wheel hitch: What size is the truck bed?
Your truck bed length will determine the type of mounting platform you’ll need for your 5th wheel hitch: legs or a roller. 5th wheel legs are the standard option for mounting a 5th wheel hitch, but they will only fit in a long-bed truck. For short-bed trucks, extra clearance may be needed when making tight turns. A 5th wheel roller will allow the hitch to roll backward, providing enough clearance between the trailer overhang and the truck cab.
Does the truck have an OEM puck system?
If you own a truck from Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan or Ram, your truck bed may be equipped with a puck system (pictured). If your truck has a long bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system legs. If your truck has a short bed with the puck system, select a CURT 5th wheel hitch with the appropriate OEM puck system roller or roller adapter.
Do you prefer permanent base rails?
If your truck does not have the OEM puck system, you will need to install 5th wheel rails. The traditional method for installing base rails is to use vehicle-specific under-bed brackets. First, select the custom under-bed brackets that fit your specific make and model, as well as a set of industry-standard base rails. Next, if you have a long-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with legs. If you have a short-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with a roller. Remember to always abide by the weight capacity of the lowest-rated towing component.
Would you like the option to easily remove the base rails?
Another 5th wheel mounting option is a gooseneck hitch. Using the CURT Double Lock EZr or Double Lock gooseneck and X5 adapter plate allows you to have a removable set of industry-standard 5th wheel base rails. First, select the Double Lock EZr gooseneck hitch kit that fits your specific make and model. Next, select the corresponding X5 adapter plate. Finally, if you have a long-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with legs. If you have a short-bed truck, select a 5th wheel hitch with a roller.

The CURT A20 5th wheel hitch offers smoother, quieter towing for your home-away-from-home, combining the patented technology of our A-series, an easier mounting system and the power of a 20K 5th wheel hitch. Like our A16 hitch, this 20K 5th wheel hitch uses a patented cast yoke to allow for unimpeded head movement, while providing exceptional stability for the trailer. The yoke has a set of poly-torsion inserts to suppress shock loads and reduce excessive noise, and the head features high-strength, interlocking jaws to give the trailer stability and the freedom to pivot and swivel as needed. This A20 5th wheel hitch head comes with the CURT R20 slider to be mounted in a short-bed truck using 5th wheel base rails and a bracket kit (base rails and brackets sold separately). CURT 5th wheel sliders feature solid construction and offer a sturdy mounting place for your 5th wheel hitch, ensuring that none of its towing strength is lost. CURT 5th wheel sliders are also true rolling units, meaning they actually roll on wheels that bear the weight of the trailer rather than simply sliding on hollow rods as seen in competitive models. With a thick operating handle, the roller smoothly rolls the 5th wheel head forward and back, locking securely into each position as desired. CURT sliders also provide up to 12" of displacement as well, unlike the more common 10", to give you a wide range of motion and plenty of space to get your 5th wheel trailer around any turn. Once installed, the A20 is fast and simple to operate. It has a lockable, single-throw handle that self-resets to the ready-to-couple position after uncoupling, and it is equipped with a coupling indicator that is visible from the truck cab. To protect the A20 5th wheel hitch against rust and wear, it comes with a black carbide powder coat finish and a limited lifetime warranty. We also test the A20 for safety in accordance with SAE J2638 to ensure reliability for the road ahead.
- SELF-RESETTING. This A-series 5th wheel hitch features a unique, ergonomic handle and extra-wide head to make coupling your 5th wheel trailer easier than ever. After uncoupling, the handle self-resets to the ready-to-couple position

Product description
The CURT A16 5th wheel hitch excels in easy operation and stable, quiet 5th wheel towing. It does this with two key features: a single-throw handle and a patented head design. The single-throw handle only needs to be pulled once when coupling and uncoupling. It is designed to self-reset to the ready-to-couple position after uncoupling, allowing for fewer steps while hooking up your trailer. The patented head of the A16 features a cast yoke with poly-torsion inserts as well as interlocking jaws to create stability for your truck and trailer. These components allow the A16 to suppress shock and vibrations and reduce any additional noise coming from your trailer. The A16 also has an extra wide head to make coupling even easier, one-pin head removal to make it simple to move the hitch, and a GTW rating of 16,000 lbs. This 16K 5th wheel hitch comes with the CURT R16 slider and the CURT OEM puck system 5th wheel slider adapter. It is designed to be mounted on a Ford short-bed pickup with the truck bed puck system. Using a set of quarter-turn anchors, the adapter quickly and easily drop into the pucks, instantly mounting the A16 hitch equipping the truck for 5th wheel towing. Once installed, the slider allows for added clearance when making tight turns with your trailer. CURT 5th wheel sliders are true rolling units, meaning they actually roll on wheels that bear the weight of the trailer rather than simply sliding on hollow rods as seen in competitive models. With a thick operating handle, the roller smoothly rolls the 5th wheel head forward and back, locking securely into each position as desired. CURT sliders also provide up to 12" of displacement as well, unlike the more common 10", to give you a wide range of motion and plenty of space to get your RV or other 5th wheel trailer around any turn. This A16 hitch with puck system slider is only intended to fit the Ford puck system and cannot be installed without it.
- SELF-RESETTING. This A-series 5th wheel hitch features a unique, ergonomic handle and extra-wide head to make coupling your 5th wheel trailer easier than ever. After uncoupling, the handle self-resets to the ready-to-couple position
- FULL ARTICULATION. This 5th wheel hitch provides controlled towing of your 5th wheel camper with its patented head technology. The head is built on a cast yoke with poly-torsion inserts that reduce shock loads, chucking and noise at the coupling point
- COUPLING INDICATOR. Built into this 5th wheel hitch is a 3-position indicator that shows the coupling status. It conveniently shows if the 5th wheel hitch is coupled, uncoupled or ready to tow
- TESTED STRENGTH. This 5th wheel hitch is tested and rated for 16,000 lbs. gross trailer weight and 4,000 lbs. vertical load (limited to lowest-rated towing component). It is tested according to SAE J2638 specifications
- VERSATILE FIT. This 5th wheel kit fits select model years of the Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with 6.75-foot bed and puck system. It has quarter-turn anchors to quickly and easily drop into the truck bed platform
