Answer:	I have not cut anything flat and wide with these. I can tell you that these are very well made, have great mechanical advantage and are the best performing cutter of this type that I have used. My guess is it would have a tough time with pipe clamps.
Question:	How wide do the jaws open
Answer:	OK I measured it this time. It actually slopes in. The narrow point is 1/4 inch. This is where I think the cutting should normally be done. The wide point is 3/8 inch.
Question:	Would this easily cut through #9 metal roofing screws? I need to cut off the bottoms of these screws that are poking through my roof sheathing
Answer:	The number #9 screw has a nominal diameter of .177 inches. This falls in the upper range of the specification in the description for the tool. It should cut it but be advised that doesn't cut perfectly flush to the surface.
