Question:	Can this be tilted with the bikes loaded
Answer:	I purchased the 4 bike version and even by itself, it is extremely heavy. It is made out of steel and not aluminum. If the bikes were loaded and you trigger the tilt, it would be very difficult to raise back up. I would not recommend tilting the 4 bike version fully loaded. I presume the two bike version is lighter of its own accord and then it is the weight of the bikes...
Question:	how wide is the rack? it looks like it sticks out past the edges of the car and cant be folded when not in use
Answer:	My rack measures 70 inches for my bike length. The wheel frames cannot be folded up. The rack can be shortened to 56 inches when not in use by sliding the wheel frames in.

Answer:	Of course this is a great rack. I personally have a ebike and a mountain bike that both have 2.5 inch wide tires but I've hauled a friends road bike and there's no movement or bouncing. To whom it may concern this is a yes or no question. Might or might not doesn't work for this question. If you haven't hauled a road bike then please don't guess.

Question:	Will a 1/2 inch or 5/8 hitch pin lock (such as the one Amazon lists as frequently purchased with this carrier) work with this
Answer:	The 1/2" OEM pin goes all the way through the carrier's tongue. The tongue's pin hole is threaded on both sides but the thread will only go in about 1/2 -3/4" or so. You could drill out the 1/2" hole to 5/8" but that may void the warranty. I tried Mac's suggestion. A 1/2" eyebolt only goes into the hitch about a half inch. I would think a bolt on the other side would be necessary. Mac's idea of using the eyebolt with long padlock is a good one, but I discovered that the hole where the cotter pin goes on the 1/2" pin is a little more than a 1/4" in diameter. A padlock with a 1/4" diameter shackle will fit in the hole perfectly. I used a MasterLock 4696D. The shackle appears quite robust and would take a bolt cutter to cut it. This installation secures my hitch to the carrier without any modification.
Question:	What is the measurement between the top of the hitch and the top of the bracket? Checking for clearance
Answer:	On my unit the distance between the top of the carrier tube at the hitch to the highest point on the carrier is 27.5 inches. That does not include the removable hold-down clamp. And for what it's worth, the vertical bar folds down, providing more than enough clearance for my Outback hatch to open.

Answer:	The thread size is 1/2"-13 (had a gauge and checked it out) . This was a shock, I thought it would be metric threads.
Question:	Will a fat tire fit
Answer:	a fat Mountain bike tire fits fine... but if you are referring to those REALLY fat tires that you ride on the beach, then, even though it will sit on the tire pedestal, it will not fit in it. You can secure it with a bungee cord and it should work.

Answer:	The hole on the rack for the hitch pin is 1/2". This is designed to work with the No Wobble Bolt that is included with the rack. This bolt works to securely tighten the rack when installed on the vehicle and keeps the rack from moving during use.
Question:	Would this fit on a 2012 Nissan Rogue
Answer:	The brackets that the straps are attached to rotate around the rack arms, making it fairly easy once you figure out the best position. I actually had 3 women's bikes on the rack with no problems. The straps were on the diagonal bar and the vertical bar below the seat and it was very tight, no movement at all. No issues with women's bikes at all here.
Question:	What is the max weight capacity for bikes on this rack
Answer:	If you are talking about leaving the bikes, we purchased the doberman lock and secured the bikes and lock to the straight pole on back, we have two to interweave between the bike wheels and the pole. We also brought a locking pin for the hitch. Never had a problem, we have left them on there while down the shore, on bike trails while we walk or go to get something to eat.
Question:	Why does the description say not for RVs? Has anyone tried this with a motorhome or trailer with success
Answer:	On the current version (2016 and newer) hitch racks, the carry arms are 11.5" apart on center. This translates to an outside dimension of approximately 13"

Answer:	I was thinking mine did (I've only used it once since I bought it). Been just riding to the local trail. I still had some play in it. So, I bought a $10 anti-rattle hitch tightener. One extra step each time to put on/take off. But, it holds it solid! Hope that helps?

Answer:	I use an anti-rattle thing-a-ma-jig. Works great! The only thing that sucks is once you tighten it down, you need to remove it if you want to take the bike rack out! Pick your battles! I just keep the right wrench in my vehicle for such an occasion.

Answer:	FL has toll roads that are PAY BY PLATE ONLY. They want that money. Towing a travel trailer blocks the license plate from view but have their own plate, there is no law against hauling a trailer that is not registered to you such as a u-haul trailer you rent, or a trailer you are borrowing from a friend. If you drive on a toll road, whoever the trailer is registered to will be getting the bill.

Answer:	My hubby assembled this in about 15 minutes and said it wasn't hard at all (He IS very capable with tools). As far as using the bike, I LOVE THIS BIKE RACK! I am a 61 year old female in fairly good shape and from the time I walk out into the garage and the time I go back in the house, it takes me less than 10 minutes to put the bike rack on the car, place the locking bolt (which I definitely would recommend) and put the bike on the rack. Taking the bike off and putting it on takes 10-20 seconds. The only complaint I might have is that sometimes loosening the clamps that push down to hold the bike on the rack can be hard to loosen when removing the bike. They are made like a rachet that moves up and down the center shaft, so if you push them down on the bike really hard, which of course is what you want to do, they can be hard to 'squeeze' to open the clamp.....BUT, remember, I have 61 year old hands and not much strength in them. My spouse tells a little WD-40 might help, so we'll try that next time we use the rack. But don't let this one small thing change your opinion. I absolutely love this bike rack and would never buy any other, as a matter of fact, we have two of them!
