If you want to sew for a friend, simply mark their body measurements in a different color of ink. This color of the form is opal green and is constructed with a nylon foam-backed cover for easy pinning. Dials are located at the bust, waist and hip areas and feature rolling wheels as well as two auto-set dials at front bust and waist. The neck size can be adjusted using the dial located on the neck cap. A pin cushion is conveniently located on the neck cap for easy access to pins. The back waist manually splits using the adjustment knob located inside the form providing up to 2” of additional length. Adjusting Body Sizes:

• Using the desired body measurements, begin with the bust measurements.
• With one hand hold the body form and with the other hand compress the upper white and lower red indicator together located on the front dial marked “AB”.
• Turn clockwise until the red indicator lines up with bust measurement. Release dial.
• Follow with adjusting waist size(AW) and hip measurement(AH).
• Programme sizes on the back panels from top to bottom and then two sides from top to bottom.

How to adjust waist length?

• To length the torso/waist, notice a black plastic toothed collar covering the white center pole located under the inside skirt of the form.
• Turn the black collar slightly to the left to disengage retainer teeth, pull down until the desired length is obtained, twist collar to the right to re-engage the teeth.
• To return to original height, simply reverse the preceding stage.

Personalising Figures:

To personalise for larger or smaller bust cups or for narrower or wider backs, adjust the four bust dials(AB) to compensate so that their sum total divided by four equals the total bust size.

Example:

(Front 90cm+Side 88cm+Back 94cm)/4 dials=360/4=90cm

Hip measurements may also be costumised by adjusting hip dials(AH)

Neck Adjustment:

Make neck size adjustment after having adjusted body sizes. To adjust, depress and turn the neck dial.Check collar size with a flexible tape measure.

Setting the hemline gauge:

• With the hem gauge bar in the horizontal position, disengage the center collar retaining clip.
• Slide the collar up or down until the top of the collar lines up with the requires height.

Answer:	You would not be able to make this adjustment just with the dress form dials.However you could possibly do this with the addition of padding such as the Fabulous Fit system.

Answer:	I don't know about the Singer...but I really like my Dritz My Double. I used a sloper and made it an exact body double with padding. It is stable dressform which I really like.

How To Choose A Dressform

Analyze your body. Have a friend help take varied measurements such as those in the drawings to the right. Do you have a high hip or shoulder? Do you carry weight over your tummy? An honest appraisal will net you the best fitting clothes!

You may not need all of the measurements to start, but the more you have, the more correct your form will be.

Fine Tuning Your Dressform

Our dressform's have been designed to accommodate as many varied adjustment needs as possible. However there will be occasions when the form has been adjusted, but it still requires reshaping. We all have differently shaped bodies. For example, a 36” bust measurement is different on everyone – some have a full cup size while others have a broad back that contributes to the total measurement.
