2. Wide applications on sewing fabrics
This is sewing and quilting machine, fabric no thicker than 5mm works fine with Z6 sewing machine.
Your fabric will determine the choice of a needle and thread. There is table in our manual which is a practical guide to needle and thread selection on Page 10. Always refer to it before a new sewing project. And be sure to use the same size and type of thread in the bobbin as in the top thread supply.
Warm prompt:
1. If jam happens, you can check from below aspects:
a. Top thread is not well threaded
Make sure thread pass all the slots as in the manual and retry.
b. The top thread tension is not appropriate
The bobbin tension has been correctly set at the factory, so you do not need to adjust it. Just need to adjust the top thread tension, 90% of your sewing will be done with the top thread tension control set at “4”. You can have a trial test on the fabric before start the main project.
2. The feed dogs don't come up
a. First, make sure the feed dog control is right in the position. When turn to right side, it is push down and then to the right, like an "L" as showing in the manual.
b. Rotate the hand wheel after switch to the feed dog side to see the feed dog raise to the right position.
c. Restart the sewing machine.
3. When want to use letter mode
a. Use Satin stitch foot (Z).
b. If you want to larger the space between letters, don't forget to use manual adjustment buttons.

You Tube has many fine videos that will show you how to do free motion embroidery, on a regular machine, with just an everyday wooden hoop. But if you set on buying this model or the CS6000i here is the skinny - it is easy to use if you stick to the book or YouTube for help and FOLLOW the step by step instructions. You will see a small hole in the filler cap where you insert a straight pin to pop it out of the machine. | Answer: | The DX will have the floating feature, programmable foot control, presser foot auto lift button to lift the presser foot up and down. The presser foot will have a pivot function, a adjustable starting and reverse speed, elongation stitch patterns, one point patterns and lace patterns, the straight stitch slide plate. |

| Answer: | The DX7 has an additional 102 stitches (mostly decorative), 1 more LED light, 1 more available font, and the optional wide quilting table is included, along with I think a couple more presser feet. Oh and DX5 uses buttons to change stitch length whereas the DX7 uses a dial. All other specs, stitch speed, motor, etc are the same. After comparing both for some time I went with the DX5, because 185 stitches is already more than I’ll ever use for garments or quilting, and I like buttons. The quilting table would be nice but can be purchased separately. The DX5 is by far the most amazing machine I’ve ever sewn on, and a year in I highly recommend it! |

| Answer: | No. The extension table is not included. I ordered one through Amazon for $69. I also ordered the knee lift for another $40. The quilter’s package with ruler foot and rulers is a great value if you’re interested in that. Mine was missing the extra bobbins and extra thread spool holder as advertised. However, Amazon gave me a credit for the value of those two items and I purchased them. I’ve had the Juki for 16 months and absolutely love it. |

| Answer: | It is not dual voltage, 110V only. I contacted Brother who said I can use a stepdown transformer, BUT they do not recommend it. Still, since I bought this on Amazon and I live in the Philippines, freight back was not something I wanted to lay on anyone. Therefore, I bought a 500 Watt step down transformer to ensure I made the 2 amp requirement for operation. I carefully plugged everything in and all work perfectly. The 500 watt transformer handles things beautifully. My lady loves the Brother and says it does everything she could want. She just made fitted sheets for our bed and they came out perfect. She highly recommends this machine. |

| Answer: | The feed dogs do not drop but there is a darning plate that covers them. I have done a bit of free motion quilting with it and it works well. |
