Answer:	I have used my Juki MO644D to sew 9 oz and 12 oz canvas. It does a good job. I try to avoid serging over plied areas, as the bulk of the seams can be hard for the feed dogs to handle. I usually and overcast those areas, instead of serving, and join the pieces after the overcast. I also bought heavier gauge needles to compliment the heavier fabrics.

But you may still want to add some pieces of foam or fabric so the machine doesn't slide around. The reason this case works better than a Singer case, or another generic case, is that the XR1355 is quite tall at 13.5". The inside of this case is 13.75" so it accommodates the XR1355's height.

Answer:	It depends on where your 1411 is 13 inches tall. In the very middle of this case, where the handle is, the top has a depression so the handle will lay flat. If your unit is just 13 inches somewhere other than the very middle, then there should be no problem. The spindle that holds the thread on my singer stylist is a full 13 inches to the tip and it fits with no issue. There is some "wiggle" room meaning you can slide the unit left or right to make it fit. With Amazon's customer satisfaction guarantee, I'd risk it.
