User questions & answers

Question: Anyone know what the temps are at each setting? Looking to be able to set 284 - 320 °F (140 - 160 °C) for iron on clothing labels
Answer: I found the heat settings on the Dritz website:Setting 1: Approximately 176 degrees F - 248 degrees FSetting 2: Approximately 230 degrees F - 302 degrees FSetting 3: Approximately 284 degrees F - 356 degrees FSetting 4: Approximately 338 degrees F - 410 degrees F. Hope these help.
Question: How big is the iron face and what does it mean by adjustable
Answer: I just measured the face of the iron to be sure. It is 1 inch wide at the widest point. It is 2 1/2 inches long and the point is very small. There are two adjustments, one is the wire bar that holds it up (so the face does not burn whatever it is sitting on) the other is the heat adjustment. This iron heats fast and if you keep a spray bottle of water nearby to add some steam it works great. It shuts off automatically as well. I have never burned myself on this iron.
Question: Voltage 220 or 110V
Answer: Here in the US the standard is 110V with a couple of breakers set up with 220 for the dryer and such. You can tell a 220 because they're the ones with the big plug with tines that come out in a triangle. I believe the EU uses 220. Adapters have to be used when you jump the pond.
Question: For those who have used both, how does this compare to the Clover mini-iron w/ different tips
Answer: This is a late answer, but for anyone else who is wondering... I have both and use both for different things. This dritz one heats up much, much faster than the clover, but it's also a bit bulkier. The clover one can get into much smaller areas which is more helpful to me when making purses. For any projects that aren't too difficult to get to, the dritz one is my go to as it's so much quicker to heat up. Any real difficult areas to get to, I wait for the clover to heat up. I also use the clover for things like heat cutting with the hot razor attachment and for molding paper or fabric flowers with the ball attachment. For safety, this one seems to be a little safer as the clover has more hot areas that are exposed. But let's face it, they're irons and you have to use caution with both of them. Hope this helps!

User questions & answers

Question: Does this work as well or better than faultless “hot iron cleaner
Answer: Yes. The insert includes diagrams to fold dress shirts, t-shirts, goodies, dress slacks, and other garments.
Question: What are the ingredients? I have an older tube that doesn't give that information. How can I find out
Answer: Hi. Yes, you can. But you need to fold it so it fits on the shirt folder; any bits hanging outside the main frame will be bunched up. Please ask away, if I can be of any more assistance.
Question: does it work on teflon coated iron
Answer: It may be tough to fold it on the couch, the folder is pretty big when it is unfolded. I use mine on the bed.
Question: Does this cleaner work well on Titan non-stick sole plates or is it just for stainless steel ones
Answer: I received an email from the company promising 50% refund with a positive review including a video or 30% refund for a positive review without a video after I received the product. It said I need to email them the link to my review and they'd respond asap. While MANY people would break their hands reaching for the money, I find these types of tactics by companies tip-toeing on the borderline of dishonesty. It's human nature for someone to give a biased review in favor of the company that is compensating you in some way. It takes character, integrity and a good set of morals to give an unbiased review and know that your level of honesty can not be bought. I, personally, refused the money and am offended at these types of tactics by more and more companies nowadays. If your product is of good quality, if you run an honest business and take care of any problems your customers have then, to me, it's only common sense that your product and company will generate a good reputation for itself without having to buy, entice, compensate or tempt people to give you a certain kind of review. To answer your question of "why you should buy"....It is only my opinion that no one should buy any company's product that is compensating it's reviewers for a positive review. If I had known this then I would have definitely not purchased this brand, out of principle, because my reviews are NOT for sale. I do not need a 50% refund that badly.

User questions & answers

Question: where is it made
Answer: Agree with answer other answer - the problem is the heat required to properly bond the tape. It takes a hot iron. But the tape should be light enough for all but very light or transparant silks.
Question: What is the highest temperature this Rest shall withstand? Thanks
Answer: Dritz is the only cleaner I have ever used so I can’t attest to its effectiveness in comparison to Faultless but it worked wonders on my iron. I had residue that I didn’t know how or why it was on my iron. This took it off fast and easy. I will buy it again when I run out.
Question: Is this item actually 14.8" long $ 5.9 wide as indicated in product description? Those dimensions often represent shipping containers
Answer: They do not list the ingredients. Go to their website and look for spec sheets. ... manufactured for Prym Consumer USA Inc, 950 Brisack Rd., Spartanburg S 29303; www.dritz.com
Question: Can you set the iron down flat on this rest when on and in use or do you have to set the iron up
Answer: I don't know because my iron is not teflon coated. I did not think it worked very well.

User questions & answers

Question: Is it auto shut off
Answer: Quoting what Jeff F just said. These razors are NOT ProGlides even though they advertised it as such. The insert inside the package is just an advertisement to TRY the ProGlide. The order i just received today are the original Fusion blades.
Question: can this iron be used without water
Answer: These are authentic Gilette blades. Many years ago I spoke to Gilette customer service and they told me how to verify if blades were authentic or knock offs. On the back of the plastic that holds the blade just under the piece that pivots there are code numbers, about 8 digits. Counter fitters do not have the ability to place these tiny code numbers onto the plastic, and in truth who actually knows about this. The blades sent from Amazon have these code numbers.
Question: Can I download the instructions? I lost all that and can't remember what all the buttons mean
Answer: I find it really hard to believe that people can shave their entire face 31 times with a single blade. But, that's not what Gillette claim. They say it lasts a month, but really they mean it lasts 8 to 10 shaves. For me, I would need to trim my beard before I shaved if I waited that long between uses. I would say that if you can grow a full beard 1 blade a week is what you can expect to get from these blades. That said, the one week works better than any other disposable blade on the market. Gillette will never sell you 1 blade for $1 as long as they still cost a nickle to make.
Question: I'm looking for a compact iron for my sewing (pressing seams and whatnot). Does anyone use this for that purpose and does it work well? TIA
Answer: Your level of testosterone varies over time. A normal range for a man is typically 300–1000 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). Each use of a Gillette product reduces your testosterone level by an indeterminant quantity. Regular testosterone level testing will be important if (1) you want to remain a man, and (2) you use Gillette blades on a regular basis.

Answer: It's been awhile since I utilized this material, but no, I don't recall it as being 'stretchy'.

User questions & answers

Question: Can the ink erase with heat gun on leather
Answer: Sorry, I don't have the packaging anymore! The item itself does not have any labelling to say country of manufacture.
Question: Do these work like a regular marker, or do you have to push down onto the point to get the ink to flow? Also, do they make a nice fine ((skinny) line
Answer: Tag says it withstands up to 428 degrees Farenheit
Question: Can you erase with a handheld hot steamer? I don’t wanna make the ink bleed in from the water vapor
Answer: The item itself is 11" long and 5.9 wide. The extra 3 inches in length is from the cardboard hanger that is at the end of it. An iron will set on the iron rest with about 1/4" showing around the entire iron.
Question: Some heat erasing pens come back when it's cold. Does the ink come back from these if the fabric gets cold
Answer: You can set the iron down flat on this rest when in use HOWEVER - I would be very careful. My small iron generates a great deal of heat and the silicone iron rest let some of the heat drift through and melted a portion of the plastic banquet table the iron was setting on. To help reflect some of the heat - I place a hot pad under it on tables that can be damaged.

User questions & answers

Question: How long are each of the fasteners
Answer: It is nice to use for hemming pants, curtains men's pants anything with a straight edge to a curved edge. It has cm and inch marks. You can set up your hem line place the ezy-hem on the fabric fold and then press your line and start to pin from left to right then remove it and pin were the ezy-hem was. then move along down the hem line. there is a ruler on both sides one on the top and one on the side. Curved lines go up to 21/2 inches and the ruler measures at least 9'' s long. It is handy if you are hemming large areas and gives a nice precise hem. I too have used a dritz 6" hemmer with the slide I use that for 1/4" hems but this one is a bit more accurate. Nice additive to your sewing arsenal.
Question: My ironing board is the built-in type and 12" wide. Will these be too large
Answer: The item itself is metal but the marker is plastic.
Question: My ironing board is 18" wide will these work
Answer: Yes, the ruler has straight lines on one side and curved lines on the other. The ruler has both centimeters and inches on both sides, but the straight edges have inches on one side and cms on the other. I like the ruler because I can get a straight sharp edge by folding the fabric to the desired line and ironing without removing the ruler.
Question: Are all 4 the same length? Thank you for your time and assistance in advance
Answer: I like full skirts (so don't do a lot of A line). I use it a lot for hemming them. My mom had one of these from the 80s and I missed it when I moved it out. This was my first sewing purchase after that. It's a bit thinner than hers, but still useful.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you wash the mat
Answer: yes
Question: Where is it made
Answer: They work like a regular marker (you don’t have to push down). They make a fine line like a ball pen. For the white one you have to wait seconds to get dry and then line appears. 😉
Question: The wool used may be 100% NZ wool, but what other fibers or other content is also in these mats? Mats melting or gumming up irons indicates something
Answer: I've used the steam setting on my iron and a heat gun from a distance on fabric and leather to remove the ink markings with zero bleed. These pens are called "ink" but it does not behave like ink from a writing pen in my opinion. I will say on a satin lining I was working with the blue ink did disappear but it definitely left a white highlighted shadow where the mark was so do a test before marking all your fabric.
Question: How thick is it
Answer: I have not had any problem with the erasing pen returning on the fabric gets cold.

Loved By Quilting Professionals

From The Modern Quilt Guild to Quilt-stagrammers, Lilypad Lake is the choice for the quilting industry.

@NightQuilter says "I LOVE these mats! They create a smooth press!"

With an eye on quality, we never put our name on anything less-than-best and our fans will tell you the same: these ironing mats are built to last!

Compare us to our competition!

When you look closely, you can see the difference between our ironing mat and the other pressing pads online. Our premium mats are made from 100% New Zealand wool that is never treated with harsh chemicals or dyed to change the color. The wool is simply washed, combed, layered, and pressed until the mat is thick, dense, and smooth.

Rough Surface

This competitor sells their ironing mats without any attention to detail! There are stray items caught in the fibers, and the wool itself is rough. Ironing mats like this will leave your fabric covered in wool fibers as they peel off over time.

Color + Smell

This wool is untreated (like ours), but because it comes from less-than-ethical farms, the coloring is mottled. And beware the smell! Industrial wool that comes from factory farms has an unpleasant odor when it heats up under your iron.

Uneven Edge

This mat arrived at our doorstep with a completely uneven edge. Will this greatly affect your ironing? No. Is it reasonable for a company to have such low quality-control standards that they'd let this mat ship? Absolutely not.
