| Answer: | It should be fine going through a dishwasher. Even on sanitize I would think. Air dry or hot dry too. Though a plastic material it's very durable and though I rarely use the dishwasher being but two of us I dump boiling water over it or drain hot cooked food water right over it all the time too. Most dishwashers do not exceed boiling temps. Maybe a few with steam heat and modern technology but doubt it. I also hit it with bleach quite often and soak it in dishes that I soak using liquid dishwasher detergent the old Calgon brand that is quite alkaline I believe. The drain has yet to show any signs of texture or color and has held up well....been using for 3 years plus now. We have a center disposal in a three suedo sink style. The middle a mini sink and that is where it sits. We use it primarly to prevent utensils going down the drain and also it holds up the drain plug so liquids do drain through and thus the drain is not wide open when we need it to drain but the plug kinda sits cocked on top of it if it's got the concave to the down side and the convex side sticks up....works great for our needs. Would recommend for that but I would not like it as a regular sink drain and use either the teflon metal ones or the all stainless with a kind of mesh hole in bottom of those. This really is just for over our disposal drain. |
