User questions & answers
Question: | Do the colors last very long when used on cotton |
Answer: | Funny you ask that! I had a slow leak and some left over slime. The leak is either gone or MUCH slower than it was before. I used to have to fill up one a week. It's been 2.5 and still holding. |
Question: | Would these work on very small bleach stains on maroon carpeting? If not, are there other recommendations |
Answer: | You can't leave tire repair sealants of any type in your highway vehicle tires for more than 3 days or 100 miles (whichever one comes first) because over time, that amount of liquid will cause an imbalance or vibration in your tires traveling at highway speeds. But you can use sealant in all your NON-highway tires (bicycles, scooters, ATVs/UTVs, trailers, tractors, lawn mowers, etc.) to prevent flats for up to two years. |
Question: | Has anyone used these to do carpet dying? If so how well did it work |
Answer: | These slime products are for smaller tires. These would not work for a tractor tire. |
Question: | do these also work on coloring a design on paper and then heat-transfer with an iron (like crayola) ? or do only only work directly on fabric |
Answer: | Yes! This bottle will prevent and repair flat tires for up to two years in all your non-highway tubeless tires. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how many is in a pack and I now use bn15 what is the bpa for |
Answer: | You HAVE TO use an iron to set the color just like you do with many other paints that you can use on fabrics. We used some sun paint to do a transparent an image of a train then after dry used THESE to highlight the edges more on a 100% cotton shirt. Not only did it turn out great it's lasted a yr so far! Think it'll be outgrown before it could be called faded or ruined. You can also blend the colors a bit--not a lot like reg pastels but some! |
Question: | I need pens to have guests at my wedding write on a custom sports jersey we bought. Will this pen work |
Answer: | I think it will work |
Question: | Will the blue or red colors show up on black fabric |
Answer: | They do work to fill in small bleach stains but it isn't permanent. They seem to wear out and need to be re-dyed. Its a cheap solution though if that is the issue. I doubt that they would work to cover a stain with any color in it. |
Question: | I just got this and I cant get it to write on paper, never mind fabric. What am I doing wrong |
Answer: | This paint is applied directly to the fabric and can then be heat set by ironing, if desired. Lasts and lasts when washed. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What colors are included? I'm trying to decide on the 25 vs 50 set. Thanks |
Answer: | I think they come in red. |
Question: | Are these nontoxic |
Answer: | All I had to do after I painted the fabric was iron it and it makes it permanent I have not wash it yet I think that’s all you have to do I don’t know if any spray sorry |
Question: | how washable are these? hands, clothing, surfaces? appropriate for smaller children |
Answer: | Only one in the package. Don't know what bpa is unless it is part of the product number (SKU). |
Question: | I am a complete newbie to any arts, crafts, hobbies or anything like this so I have to ask a stupid question.. are they able to be blended with water |
Answer: | Possibly, but to be safe I would get a sample jersey/shirt to work with so you can understand the bleed and smear effects on the material. I would say "probably" but I don't know what material you're referring to and that is definitely a large piece of the puzzle. |

User questions & answers
Question: | is there a spray to finish this with so that the paint sticks to fabric |
Answer: | I have used these fairly extensively and never had a problem...maybe you got a dried up pen?Hint: when using on fabric, stabilize first - I use a temporary fabric glue (like Odif 505 spray) to attach the fabric to cardboard, then peel it off when I am finished my design. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can these pens be used on fabric |
Answer: | I bought two sets, each for a different family so I don't have the specifics. However, I just checked on Amazon, the set of 50 is $5.99 and 25 is $4.29. I say definitely the 50 is a better buy and kids can't never have enough colors. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Can these pens be used on fabric |
Answer: | What Is ACMI?The Art And Creative Materials Institute, Inc. (ACMI) is a non-profit association of manufacturers of art, craft and other creative materials. Formerly known as The Crayon, Water Color & Craft Institute, Inc., it was re-organized and expanded in 1982 to include more types of art materials and was re-named The Art And Craft Materials Institute, Inc. The name of the association has recently been changed to The Art And Creative Materials Institute, Inc. to more accurately reflect the wide variety of materials in its certification program. Since 1940, ACMI has sponsored a certification program for children's art materials, certifying that these products are non-toxic and meet voluntary standards of quality and performance. ACMI's certification program has received the endorsement of experts in the field of toxicology and is one of the finest industry programs in existence. The program has been a responsive one, evolving to meet new challenges and to include ever more products. In 1982, the program was expanded to include certification of a broad spectrum of art and craft materials, including adult products, ensuring that health warning labels are affixed on adult materials where appropriate. All children's materials certified by ACMI are non-toxic and cannot bear health warning labels. Today ACMI has over 200 members and has certified over 60,000 art, craft and other creative materials. ACMI seeks to create and maintain a positive environment for art, craft and other creative materials usage; to promote safety in these materials; and to serve as an information and service resource on such products. In these ways, ACMI provides leadership, guidance, and education to all to achieve greater participation in art, craft and other creative activities. How does a product get approved by ACMI?ACMI has a consulting toxicology team at Duke University's Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, who review the complete formulas of products in the certification program. In this evaluation, the toxicology team take into account:Each ingredient and its quantityPossible adverse interaction with other ingredientsThe product's size and packagingPotential acute and chronic harm to any part of the human bodyPossible allergic reactionHow a product is commonly used and misusedU. S. national and state labeling regulations. The Toxicologists must approve the formula of every color of every product and must approve every formula change. Safety is the only consideration. The toxicology team keeps informed of new scientific data on ingredients from government and private sources. Previously-approved ingredients have been banned and restrictions established when new developments have occurred. Cautionary labeling is required on products when appropriate. All products certified as non-toxic by ACMI are non-toxic for both children and adults because the Toxicologists base their evaluation on the use and misuse (such as ingesting a material) of the product by a small child. The decisions of the toxicology team are final, subject only to appeal by ACMI's Toxicological Advisory Board, which is composed of leading toxicological experts in the United States. These toxicologists act as a review board on issues of toxicity. They review the criteria used by ACMI's toxicology team and make recommendations to ACMI. Current members of the Toxicological Advisory Board are: Elaina Kenyon, M.D., Toxicologist, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Dr. John H. Mennear, Consultant Scientist in Pharmacology and Toxicology; and Thomas B. Starr, Ph.D., Principal, TBS Associates. What do the ACMI Seals mean?Approved Product The new AP (Approved Product) Seal, with or without Performance Certification, identifies art materials that are safe and that are certified in a toxicological evaluation by a medical expert to contain no materials in sufficient quantities to be toxic or injurious to humans, including children, or to cause acute or chronic health problems. Such products are certified by ACMI to be labeled in accordance with the chronic hazard labeling standard, ASTM D 4236, and the U. S. Labeling of Hazardous Art Materials Act (LHAMA). Additionally, products bearing the AP Seal with Performance Certification are certified to meet specific requirements of material, workmanship, working qualities, and color developed by ACMI and others through recognized standards organizations, such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). Some products cannot attain this performance certification because no quality standard currently exists for certain types of products.Cl The CL Seal identifies products that are certified to be properly labeled in a program of toxicological evaluation by a medical expert for any known health risks and with information on the safe and proper use of these materials. This Seal appears on only 15% of the adult art materials in ACMI's certification program and on none of the children's materials. These products are also certified by ACMI to be labeled in accordance with the chronic hazard labeling standard, ASTM D 4236, and the U. S. Labeling of Hazardous Art Materials Act (LHAMA). |
Question: | Work on black paper |
Answer: | They come of of hands easy enough, however I wouldn't expect oil pastels to come out of clothing easily. My 12 year old loves working with them, but I don't think I would let my 6 year old use them. |
Question: | Are these pens .4mm or .8mm? The description shows both sizes as a medium point |
Answer: | Your question is not a stupid one especially since there are products called a "water soluble oil pastels", which by its name is oil based but will liquefy and blend with the application of water. The oil pastels which are made to do this generally specify either in the title or clearly in the larger print info on the box. Since these do not specify that, I would guess that these particular oil pastels are not. I was confused when I first saw the water soluble oil pastels because I had no idea how water would/could mix with them until I investigated, lol. I hope that adds a little more info for you to the other answers and best of luck with your projects. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the grip soft/removable? I'm thinking of buying this just for the grip, to use on my Apple Pencil |
Answer: | Yes, I suppose it will. I bought a white marker so it could be applied to a dark surface. It's just a liquid paint being applied with a felt tip. Shake well before applying. |
Question: | can you specify the width of the trace |
Answer: | Hello,This will work on tires.Thank you |
Question: | If translated to regular pen tip size, would it be 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.7mm, or 1mm |
Answer: | I guess you can use the marker tip like a paint brush so any with line can be made. Over a year ago I recoated metal lettering on a sign, that shows no sign of fading. Hope this helps! |
Question: | The silver looks very dark in the picture will it show up well on Black card stock |
Answer: | I imagine it should write on any surface since it's a permanent marker, but seriously, a permanent gel type mare would be better for you. |
