Answer:	Hi - for me so far, it latches and stays latched fine without it being locked-it's not a hair-trigger at all. The caveat would be that there is some possibility of accidentally brushing against the latch (it's a pry-type from its top) and causing it to open. I never lock mine, but it doesn't "move around" a lot either. Hope this was helpful.

Answer:	No, you have to intentionally dismantle an old alarm clock, and then insert it into the box. (Don't forget to take credit for your invention! You may be entered for a chance to win a trip to The Whitehouse and Facebook headquarters!)

Answer:	The top stays closed by a small flap and hooks under the rim. I have no tried dropping the case, but I can tell you it was not as big as I hoped because it did not hold all of my daughter's school supplies.
