Are the metal brackets flimsy, and super easy to bend like the cheap ones at "local craft stores

Answer:

The brackets are actually solid and don’t bend. I just tested to be sure and pushed on them with a good amount of pressure and it wasn’t budging. That said, I’ve noticed that the screw gets to be tighter and more difficult to turn than some of the craft store brands. Not an issue for me, as I view it as “this thing really isn’t going anywhere now!” once it’s in place, but it can be tough on the fingers. I am extra gentle with the actual hoop part because it feels more delicate and lighter than others I’ve used, but if you’re using for display and well as function, the color is natural and beautiful. So overall, solid brackets, be gentle with the wood parts, good for the money, they are durable overall.

Would these work for a small needlepoint project

These hoops will work with any embroidery project that is stitched on fabric such as Aida, linen, etc. Needlepoint (as opposed to cross stitching) is done on a stiffer plastic canvas and no hoop is required. The smallest hoop in this set is 6 inches, so the fabric you're stitching on needs to be a bigger than 6 inches for it to fit. This will give you enough extra fabric to pull and make it snug. If your project is smaller than 6 inches. you can always sew some extra fabric onto your project to allow it to fit in the hoop. Hope that helps.

Question:	How much space between base and hoop when fully extended? What is its full height
Answer:	The space between top of base and bottom of clamp is 14.25 when fully extended. The dowel is not held by the screw but rather rests on top of it.
Question:	Are there other heads available to hold larger frames like Q snaps
Answer:	It can not hold the Q snaps and bigger hoop like 40cm embroidery hoop. But it can hold the thinner hoop. You just need to keep some angles between the clamps and tighten the 2 screws.
