Question:	are thesizes for these crochet hooks marked alphabetically on the hoook, e.g. f, g, h etc. thank you
Answer:	From my experience - the surface has to be perfectly flat and u also have to steady it before you let go - also u must make sure all the washers are there and screws are the same. Then tighten the the same depth. You should replace all three at the same time. Mine still does not stand by itself all the time.

Answer:	No. They do not fray. They are very smooth to the touch. I'm not crazy about the hook part. The old fashioned end was more open. I do not care for the pinched end.

Answer:	I am a beginner too and initially had trouble but it was because the wood not being as slick as my metal ones caused me major aggravation, but I have gotten used to them and have not since had issues. They are comfortable for Arthritic hands also
