Answer:	I accidentally bought this instead of the all purpose dye, so I decided to test it before returning. It did dye the cotton. I’m not sure how well it will hold up, especially given the large amount of dye I used compared to normal, but it did appear to work

Answer:	I used this on couch covers from the 1980's. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what they were made of. NO dye worked until this one. The dye took beautifully. My cushions went from a medium/light brown, to deep charcoal grey. I can still see a touch of brown in the final color, but I will dye again to get a darker color. I don't have a pot big enough, so I filled my sink with super hot water from the tap, and then poured a gallon of water in from a tea kettle. I stirred in the dye, and added *already wet* fabric (more even dye distribution). I store a few times for 20 min, then covered the sink in foil and put a few pans on top to keep the heat in and let it set for two hours or so! I rinsed, washed in cold water in my washer with a little powder soap and the cushions look great! If you want a black color, you likely will need to dye twice, maybe three times. The longer you leave it in the dye, and the hotter you can keep it over time, the better it will set.

Question:	Is "graphite" the new black
Answer:	I'm not sure of the block print process, but it does adhere well to fabric. I had spread a thin, even layer of the fabric paint into canvas sneakers with a Qtip. It went on nicely, stayed on, and has not cracked or peeled- even at the points of the sneakers that are constantly flexing. Good luck!

Answer:	I did 2 pair of faded back Levi jeans with one pod and the result was spectacular. It restored the jeans to their original jet black color. The directions suggest 2 pair of jeans per pod which should give you an approximate idea of how much fabric one pod will do. They say a pod will completely do a king size set of sheets

Answer:	Just to be safe, I always wash alone for the first few washes. After that, I haven't had any problems with color bleed.

Answer:	color results are about same using coloring directions; i've found at least 2-3 additional dye packs to most formulas give deeper blacks.

Answer:	Hi Maureen, in general all cotton dyes well. White fabric to Black dye produces a good outcome. I add distilled White vinegar and Epsom salts in HOT water with the dye. Let the garment soak 2 or 3 times longer than the directions call for. Use more dye to insure a deep Black color. I hope that helps!

Answer:	Just soak them in warm to hot water for a few minutes . After that , rubbing a little soap on the stencil should help the paint to slide off. Rinse and pat dry.

Answer:	It works very well. I block print with it on dark fabrics- if your question is about the jaquard super opaque- it works great.
Question:	Could I dye outdoor cushion covers with this dye
Answer:	If you do not thin the paint down further and do not apply really thick coats, one of the 2.25 oz bottles could easily cover up to 6 square feet of surface.
Question:	can orange dye be used on orange velvet chair
Answer:	I haven't tried yet on this product, but many colors can be set by soaking overnight in a bucket of strong salt water... maybe cup of salt. next day the water may have a pink to red tint. If you want to use multiple colors you will have to set them individually

Question:	Do I really need to use the color stay after using the Dye
Answer:	Not sure how much you will need but since there is a polyester blend mixed in they won't be completely black, they'll be like a very dark grey purple but still looks good. I did Polyester blend curtains (the really thick ones), they are something like 8'x6' and I used one bottle to about 4 gallons of water if that helps.
Question:	Sunbleached clothes, will it fix this
Answer:	I don’t see why not. It didn’t work for me but I was using a synthetic fabric which I was later told requires a special type of dye. If your canvas is cotten there should be no problem
Question:	Will this strip all color from a garment? I'm trying to fix an item that was made to look vintage
Answer:	Velvet is a polyester, so sounds like the polyester version would get the best results.
Question:	How often do I need to use the DYE Fixitive on the same article of clothing?Don't want my black jeans to fade so do I need to do this before each wash
Answer:	I would highly recommend this dye for cotton fabrics. You CAN use it on cotton/poly blend, but remember that the more poly in the blend, the less dye will bind and the lighter the color will be. Hope this helps!

Answer:	About the same as a Sharpie marker ... starts fading noticeably with each "whites" wash cycle (hot wash with chlorine bleach). Should survive better in cold or warm wash without chlorine bleach.

Answer:	I don’t think so. I recommend using chubbiee no-iron kids clothing labels for permeant use. At least they will not stain your garments lol.

Answer:	I used these on two black hoodies with bleach spots, but the black of the pens was darker than the sort of faded black of the sweatshirt. The white spots are now just black spots. I'm hoping after a bunch of washes, it'll fade and not be so noticeable.

Answer:	Zero washes! Completely runs with any water!

Answer:	I did not use the color stay after using the dye. FYI - Dye is only a brightener, not a dye.
Question:	I plan on using this brand of dye (assorted colors) to dye 100% cotton rugs. Can you tell me what other products I might need to buy
Answer:	*You have to dye/color the clothing first. You have to follow the directions completely in order to get the color you want. That includes having the water very hot for the dying of the clothing. Then you'll want to use the Rit Dye Fixative to set the color in the garment.
Question:	How colorfast is this dye? Can the resulting fabric/clothes be washed with warm water
Answer:	Sets the colors, not strip. Keeps deep color from bleeding & fading. I used this on Cranberry tablecloth.
Question:	How much liquid dye does each container make
Answer:	I don’t know if this would work on black jeans, but I do know that if you wash your black jeans inside out, they will keep their color longer.

Question:	Would these colors hold to acrylic yarn
Answer:	Cover dyed fabric with plastic wrap to keep damp. Let set 6-8 hours or longer for most intense colors. Rinse well with water until excess dye is removed. Cut rubber bands if used. Fill washer to "large load" setting with hottest water suitable for fabric and a small amount of laundry soap. Wash and dry separately. Wash separately for the first few washes.

Answer:	Never have but give it a try on something you not to worried about if it's a fail
Question:	how does the process of spray differ from traditional tie dye
Answer:	I did 6 kid shirts, 1 kid sweatshirt, 2 adult shirts, and an adult sweatshirt. So my guess would be at least 12 since the sweatshirts and adult shirts take more dye but could manage more depending on how much white you want on the shirts. Ours were all completely saturated
