Answer:	The gloves are large and they stretch. I would still purchase the kit and get your son some smaller gloves. Happy carving.
Question:	Can a left hander use the tools comfortably
Answer:	Depends what he's trying to carve. This is a great place to start as a general carving knife. Forks, spoons, handles for various tools can be done with just this knife. Although, when carving spoons, having a curved knife makes the process a lot easier. You can get one for a similar price as this knife. I recommend not getting the double sided blade but one for a righty or lefty. If he is wanting to do more intricate carving like faces for example, he would eventually want more blade varieties. All that said, this knife is a cheap way of finding out if he likes the hobby enough to continue to invest in it. Do him an extra favor and buy him some carving gloves. They're an absolute imperative. Ask any carver how many times they have cut themselves when not taking the extra three seconds to put gloves on when working on a project.
