Answer: I have yet to cut any fabric with them. But all my co-workers said, “they feel like fabric cutting scissors” I can try cutting fabric with them tomorrow and let you know.

Answer: The big opening measures almost 2.5" inches long. Both openings are pretty large. I have smaller hands so they're definitely not a problem for me, but I think you'll be fine.

Answer: Honestly, I don't think they are. Of course, you could use them, but I noticed that the handle slopes in a bit to make using them more comfortable if you're right handed. This feature is only one-sided, but they're not terribly uncomfortable when held in my left hand(however, I haven't tested how comfortable they would be in my left hand after heavy use).
