Answer:	Any sharpener that you would use on any other scissor. But be careful when you get to the end if the cutters...they are very, very pointed and sharp. I use my husbands knife sharpener.

Answer:	I use mine for cutting felt for ornaments but generally only cut one layer at a time. I like the sharp cutting you can do with the tips. Helps with small details. I bet you could cut through two layers of flannel.

Answer:	These sellers seem confused about what they are selling. From the tip of the blade to the of the handles, in the closed position, the shears are 6 1/8 inch long. The functional part of the shears blade is 1 3/4 inch long while the full blade is 1 7/8 inch long. At the widest part of the handle in the closed position, the handle is 1 5/8 inch. A hint: expect the lock to fail as it is plastic and after minimal use my locks have failed on two pair of these shears. They continue to be functional, though.

Question:	I noticed the tips make good contact but there is a large gap between the two cutting edges on the rest of the blades. Is this normal for this item
Answer:	The gap between mine is approx. .004" down the main part of the blade, but I don't have any feeler gages at home to actually check it. A typical human HEAD hair is usually .0035" to .004" if that's any reference to the size of the gap in yours. I have never had any problem with these though they work awesome and hold up really well. If anything they left the gap there to make sure the precision tip DID make contact. Extremely clean cut no tearing even using a 10x loupe.
Question:	are these good for rag quilt snipping? my hand is killing me from using scissors
Answer:	I just completed my first rag quilt. I ordered these scissors specifically for that purpose. I returned them. They would not cut through the multiple layers. Fortunately I also have a new pair of Fiskars titanium 10" scissors that have spring action blades. Those worked fine.

Answer:	These would be excellent for cutting intricate stencils. They are light weight, super sharp which allows for accurate cutting. I LOVE THEM! I have been sewing and doing hand crafts for over 40 years and these are the best scissors for detail work I have ever found.

Answer:	I have sharpened mine, and those of the women who work in the quilt shop, by cutting aluminum foil or fine sandpaper. They do cut a lot of fabric before they need to be sharpened however. :-)

Answer:	Hi Debi. I have no idea where they're made, but I can tell you that they're really good. I've had mine for about a year, used them on several flannel rag quilts and they've been perfect. Quality materials, well built, good design.
Question:	How long do these scissors last
Answer:	If you mean cleaning them because they're dirty, then I guess just the ordinary way. Clean the blades with a household cleaner and wipe them thoroughly. But if you mean because when you're using them, they start to stick, here's what I do. I take some aluminium foil and fold it into about 3-4 thicknesses and cut through that two or three times. The blades seem to develop little burrs on them or something that cutting through the aluminium foil clears up. I always keep some next to me when I'm fraying a quilt, and since I've started doing that, I haven't had any problems. It's a bit annoying to have to stop and do it, but it works. I hope that helps.

Answer:	Hi, Yes, these are fine for snipping threads. If you do use them for that purpose, they will last longer and do a better job if they are *only* used for sewing purposes. If you are doing advanced or intricate sewing, I recommend much smaller scissors tailored to such uses. I use one pair for light metal crafts like pipe cleaners, one pair for paper and one pair for low-end fabric/ribbon/sewing.
