| Answer: | Why did you ask this question 3 different times on April 25? You recieved at least 11 answers NO basically. These are not poultry scissors. I recommend you find good quality specifically made ones for cutting chicken and meat. They do make them the good ones are expensive but some mid priced ones are pretty good. Check out their reviews and narrow down the right tool for the job. I do see someone did answer your question stating they bought a friskars 9-10 inch heavy duty scissor but did not specify the model or model number. I have at least 4 different friskars products and two are for outdoor and uitlity work like garden and twine and flower cutting but not one would handle a chicken being cut up. I prefer a knife myself and have turned down relatives attempting to gift us with poultry scissors repeatedly over the years. My husband agrees so much easier to use a decent knife. Watch a few Youtube or cooking shows to catch how it's done easily with a knife instead of shears. The best feature with knife is there are no hinges to hide bacteria and can be cleaned and sterile for every use where as shears have an area that could hide bad bugs and contaminate. I have arthritis and weakened wrists too and though often people think shears are the way to go and easier on their hands not mine. I tried it twice at these relatives homes who tried to buy us indentical shears. The company has two versions of their baldes, one for abrasive things like sheetrock and this one that I prefer which is for clean cutting things like leather and cardboard etc. : Tajima LCB-30RB Precision Craft Endura 3/8-Inch Razor Blades, 10-Pack. I use them in these: HAUTMEC Innovative Dual Use Mechanism Box Utility Cutter .... and I also very much like this: Gerber EAB Lite Pocket Knife 31-000345 with a different Tajima blade for it . I think for leather work these might be much better than scissors. I just used the HAUTMEC with the Tajima blade this afternoon on heavy belt-thickness vegetable tanned leather to make some stacked-and-glued-togehter leather polishing wheels for my bench grinder. I will use them with polishing compound to get that final edge when sharpening knives. It cut so easily, all the way through the thick leather with little effort. Didn't even need to go over the cut a second time to finish the cut. Just one effortless pass and it was done. Loved it. |
