Answer: As the previous two answers said, it's a very sturdy trellis. I'm sure it could support the weight of cucumbers on a vine. However, the bottom 12 inches of these trellises are the prongs that go into the ground, leaving only 24 inches for the vine to grow on. I use these for 12-inch pots of morning glories, which are thin vines that grow in a tangle anyway, so I can keep looping the vines over the trellis as they grow. I grow bush-type cucumbers every year, which are billed as "compact" on the seed packets, but their vines still grow at least 4 feet long. I grow three of them in an Earthbox and use the 4-foot tall by 3-foot wide net trellises that come with the Earthbox, and the cucumber vines use up the entire area of the trellis by the time they finish growing. Unless you don't mind having half of the vine trailing on the ground, I would look for a 4-foot tall trellis. Alternatively, if you have the ground space around the pot, you could allow the vine to trail over the edge of the pot onto some pvc-coated metal wire fencing. It comes in a roll so you can cut a piece that is 3 x 3 feet and anchor it to the edge of the pot and it will arch down to the ground, so the vine can grow down it.Marie Sardelli

Glass Cutters are meant to be used up against a straightedge and your finger guiding the other side, if you're not using this method you're going to have wavy lines even if your head stay still the swivel makes it more accurate if your technique is correct
