Answer:	hi, it can't work on metal, This engraving machine can be engraved plastic, wood, acrylic, pvc, pcb, wood or the like material. thanks.
Question:	Will this machine cut out dollhouse furniture parts from wood
Answer:	Straight out of the box ... no. With modifications and upgrades ... yes. You wouldn’t want to cut the aluminum bed by mistake so a spoil board is a must. The spoil board should be milled flat and level. The collet that comes with the machine is 1/8”. You would probably need a 1/4” at a minimum for any serious work. The spindle motor works but is not very powerful. You will have to make multiple cuts to get all the way through pine or hardwood. The free software is engraving software. You would need to get real cad/cam software to create the tool paths to make a 3D part. The machine is very basic. What is there is a good starting point. I’ve been having fun playing with it and upgrading it.

Question:	Hello can this machine cut as well as engrave
Answer:	Yes and no. It's NOT a router. Don't expect it to cut profiles out of 3/4" plywood. You could cut thin materials with it using the right bit, but you'll have a hard time finding 1/8" shank router bits at the hardware store. With the right bit, a good setup, and the proper programming to make shallow (0.005" or less) passes it can cut shapes out of wood or plastic. It will take a long time, but it can be done. I wouldn't recommend it if you're material is over 1/2" thick. If you want to make things out of thicker material you should look into CNC routers.

Answer:	I have the 2500w version, and it's still 3 pins. The wires will definitely fit, and the AC adapter that came with the 2500mw laser is strong enough to power much more. You shouldn't need a 4 pin until you are over 10000mw.

Answer:	Sounds like a flexing problem. Can also be a large bit size (use 1/8" single flute bit), motor speed not high enough and too fast/deep of a cut. Remember this is a very light duty machine.

Answer:	I never got to use the machine. The motor runs constantly. Has to be in the program. Will only install one way. DONT waste your money

Answer:	Hi, yes, the x moves left and right, like you're drawing a line in the sand and daring your "X" to cross it. Answer:	This seems to work just fine with the grbl .9 at github. I'm using one of these in a drawingbot I built, but my Z is a servo and not a stepper. The XY steppers work just fine. Sorry, I could not be of more help.

Answer:	Yeah, 12v power brick worked for me, at least for experimental stages, it'll need to have enough current (obviously) to run the motors. Current requirements also depends a bit on how your driver's are tuned and the motors your running.

Question:	Will this cut vinyl decals
Answer:	I would recommend against it. The laser uses concentrated light and as such generates a lot of heat. The vinyl material may (probably) release toxic gasses and the heat will likely distort the material. For cutting decals I recommend something like a Cricut.
Question:	I am wanting to engrave in leather and cow hide. Which watts would you suggest? Also would be doing wood but main focus is leather and hide
Answer:	I own the 20 watt model and would recommend it. The 15 watt would get the job done but suggest getting the 20 watt.
Question:	Is wifi required on this unit all the time
Answer:	No. The machine only needs to be connected to a computer for operation. No need to connect to the Internet. You can operate the machine offline.
Question:	What do have to set the unit on or can I just set it on a table without anything under it
Answer:	I would suggest that you place a 24" x 24" non flamable piece under the unit. For example, i placed mine on a table, but placed a 2 SF piece of tile under it in the event the laser burnt through whatever i was cutting. This was just a precautiinary measure. I picked one up at a local tile liquidation store for $2.00.

Answer:	We have found that if the supports are placed on higher surfaces than the item we're engraving it works...as long as it's level.

Answer:	To create your images, you will need to be able to save your images in BITMAP or bmp format. Most image editing software can do that. All basic image editing programs can do that. There are lots of FREE online image converter software options. Just do a search and you'll find many.

Question:	What does ‘first must do top black paint coat’ mean
Answer:	It’s for reflective surfaces. If the laser hits a reflective surface, it will bounce back. It can reflect off and project the laser in other directions. Very dangerous. Always coat reflective surfaces in black washable paint. Or a dry erase marker. Then wipe it away. This will not cut through transparent materials. You need a CO2 laser for that kind of job. The blue diode laser will pass straight through the material even if you coat it with painters tape or black paint. It will only go as deep as an etching.
