10 best pure bee waxs

Pure beeswax is a natural substance produced by honeybees. It has been used for various purposes, including wax, candle making, crafting, and arts and crafts sewing. Here is some information about pure beeswax in these contexts:

  1. Source and Composition:

    • Beeswax is secreted by worker bees from special glands on their abdomen.
    • It is composed mainly of esters, fatty acids, and long-chain alcohols.
    • The color of beeswax can vary from pale yellow to almost black, depending on the age of the wax and the type of flowers the bees visited.
  2. Candle Making:

    • Beeswax is a popular choice for candle making due to its natural and pleasant aroma.
    • Beeswax candles burn cleaner and longer than paraffin wax candles and do not produce black soot.
    • They emit a warm, golden glow when burned, creating a cozy atmosphere.
  3. Crafting:

    • Beeswax can be used in various crafting projects.
    • It is often incorporated into encaustic art, where melted beeswax is mixed with pigments and applied to surfaces like wood or canvas.
    • Beeswax can also be used to create textured surfaces in mixed media art.
  4. Arts and Crafts Sewing:

    • Beeswax can be applied to thread used in sewing and embroidery to strengthen it.
    • It helps prevent tangling and fraying, making it easier to work with thread.
    • Some crafters use beeswax to create waxed fabric for sewing, which can be water-resistant.
  5. Benefits:

    • Beeswax is a renewable and sustainable resource.
    • It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
    • When used in candles, it produces negative ions that can help improve indoor air quality by reducing pollutants.
  6. Availability:

    • Pure beeswax is widely available in various forms, including blocks, sheets, pellets, and pastilles.
    • It can be purchased from beekeeping supply stores, craft stores, or online retailers.
  7. Safety:

    • Beeswax is generally safe to handle and use in crafting and candle making.
    • However, like any hot wax, caution should be taken when melting and working with it to avoid burns.

In summary, pure beeswax is a versatile and natural material that finds applications in wax, candle making, crafting, and arts and crafts sewing. It is appreciated for its clean-burning properties, pleasant aroma, and various creative uses in DIY projects.

User questions & answers

Question: How many blocks do you get with this? I see a number 2 after Beeswax
Answer: There are options on the page. You can purchase one, two, or five. That selection is 2 pcs. Thank you!
Question: Can this work for candles
Answer: Absolutely! We use it for candles. It burns longer and cleaner than paraffin because of its higher melting point. You’ll typically want to use a square braid wick.
Question: i heard beeswax is good for attracting honey bees. would this product work
Answer: I can tell you that when filtering we have a LOT of bees coming to see our wax. It will attract honeybees, but I think flowers do a better job. They're coming after the honey, and this still smells like honey (even after we filter it. That being said, this is USA wax, so it is the same wax used for foundation in beehives.
Question: Is a white color version of this product available
Answer: No, I’m sorry. I am not aware of any white beeswax originating in the USA. Not to say it can’t happen, but it would be very uncommon. Beeswax gets its natural color from the pollen that the bees collect.

Stakich Yellow Beeswax Block - Natural, Triple Filtered - 1 Pound

Based on 2 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The highest quality beeswax at an unbeatable price. Our beeswax is 100% natural and filtered, craft grade. Beeswax is the oldest and purest wax in the world. At honey harvest time the honeycombs are carefully opened to allow for honey to drain from the comb. The bees seal the honey into the combs with wax capping placed over every cell filled with honey. This capping is removed at harvest and is used in the production of our beeswax. Collected from unsprayed and unfertilized fields, it is perfect for cosmetic, food and hobby uses. With its high water-holding capacity, it is great for lotions, lip balms and skin care products. Beeswax soothes and softens the skin, protects it from dehydration and provides antibacterial properties. And since beeswax candles emit very little smoke, our beeswax is great for making candles, too.

Question: Most people have nothing bad to say about the smell but some do. Why? Does it smell bad or doesnt it
Answer: The one I ordered smells really-really bad. You do not want to smell it second time. It gives me a bad taste even when I think about it. Awful!
Question: Is it made in USA
Answer: The company may be US based, but I'm not sure the wax is US sourced, especially as what lots of us got isn't beeswax.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this be used to make edge control
Answer: If you would like to use beeswax as an edge tamer, then go for it! It would be best to mix your favorite carrier oil with the beeswax before applying to your edges for additional benefits. A boar bristle brush or a toothbrush can be used to smooth your edges after you apply the beeswax to your hair. At night, apply a scarf to your edges to keep your hair smooth and to avoid daily application of beeswax. If you enjoy using natural products and love mixology, creating your own pomade with beeswax would be a fun project for you! Remember that a little beeswax can go a long way as to avoid product buildup.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this wax from china? organic wax does not come from the usa
Answer: My package, unlike the product picture, says "Product of India." And if you've ever been to India, you'll recognize the smell.
Question: Since no chemicals are used in making honey pellets, why does is smell so artificial ? It has non of the natural honey smell what so ever
Answer: My guess is that we're smelling other rancid fats and waxes that the producer uses to "pad out" the product, assuming it contains any beeswax at all. I would characterize the smell as old, plant-based furniture polish without a trace of beeswax/honey smell. As for the other answers: first, real beeswax does indeed have a light honey smell--ask any apiarist or get access to the real stuff to compare; second, the smell is not from the bag and persists after sitting out for days.
Question: Does anyone know if this product can be used to make home made deodorant
Answer: Never heard of using beeswax in deodorant. But I wouldn't use this for anything. While the wax may be non-toxic, the bag reeks of chemicals which then permeate the product. This is my fave homemade deodorant: 3 tsp Arrowroot Powder (or cornstarch) 3 tsp Baking Soda 2 drops: Lavender Essential Oil 2 drops: Rosemary Essential Oil 3 drops: Vanilla Essential Oil Blend (NOW brand) * Mix thoroughly in a bowl, then pot in 2oz jar. Use a cosmetics pad to pull powder up & pat onto underarms.
Question: So is the beeswax naturally white or were naturally yellow and have undergone a process to be whitened
Answer: It is naturally yellow and it has undergone a natural active carbon filtration to discolor the beeswax. No additives or chemicals of any kinds are used in the discoloration process

User questions & answers

Question: I was going to make wax melts. out of it I was wanting to know what would be a good fragrances to use in it. Than would get ride of the smell
Answer: You may use either Lavander or citrus or Lemon fragrances. Those will be good.
Question: I'm looking for the right beeswax to mix with mineral oil to make spoon butter for treating wooden kitchen utensils. Would this product work
Answer: Absolutely. It melts and mixes very well. I recently used it to make wood conditioner as well for my wooden utensils and cutting boards.
Question: Is this produced in the usa
Answer: Hey there, I contacted the company and they e-mailed "In order to source the large quantities of beeswax we require, the bulk of our wax comes from Asia. Our beeswax is Grade A, Cosmetic Grade wax which is suitable for all cosmetic and craft applications." Hope that helps!
Question: why do wax pellets have chem or smoke smell
Answer: Maybe the SELLER or BEEKEEPER could use a 'different wood' in the smoke pot to calm the bees when the collect the honey and wax??? Hello Seller?? What do you think? People tossing your product isn't a good sign and wasteful life of bees. Buyers, You can always add a Robust Olive Oil to add scent to your bees wax or candles, this adds a lovely fruity scent.

Mendini Viola

The Mendini viola has an impressive quality for the price, and is a remarkably affordable option for students who have never played the viola before and want to try it out for the first time. Here at Cecilio Musical Instruments, we understand that students have unique and diverse preferences. To better serve this diversity, our Mendini MA series of violas offers a wide variety of colors to choose from at exceptionally affordable prices. Both of our Mendini MA250 and Mendini MA350 violas have the same specifications and quality, but they differ in the type of finish used and the character of sound each one produces. The MA350 has a mellow and warm tone with a soft satin varnish finish to match, and the MA250 has a bright and vibrant tone and finish. Mendini viola includes a lightweight form fitting hard, a Brazilwood bow with unbleached genuine Mongolian horsehair, rosin, and a bridge making this package a great deal for beginners.

How to choose viola sizes

Our violas are available in 7 different sizes: 16.5", 16" (also known as full size), 15.5", 15", 14", 13" and 12". 16.5" viola is the biggest and 12" viola is the smallest. Most adults use 16" violas.

To measure what size viola best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The viola size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The viola size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use.

The following table lists the length of each viola size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of viola to get.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this product have an artificial scent added
Answer: Great question, thank you for reaching out! We have one ingredient in our beeswax - 100% pure food grade local beeswax, no added anything else. There are many attributes of beeswax that are heavily influenced by nature, which make each batch of beeswax unique, therefore all of our 100% pure beeswax blocks will have a mild, pleasant honey-scent that is naturally present in beeswax. Honeybees pollinate fields of wildflowers; clovers; trees; and a wide variety of plant life which all contribute to the unique attributes that differ between every batch of beeswax. The color and scent of beeswax is determined by what the honeybees are pollinating, so color and scent can vary from batch to batch. Since we are committed to the highest quality standards, our beeswax goes through a proprietary filter process to only remove impurities that shouldn’t be there, while keeping the integrity of the beeswax intact. This sets us apart from other companies who use chemicals and bleaches to clean and alter the color of their beeswax, and often eliminates most of the natural fragrance. Another common practice is to cut beeswax with a cheaper synthetic wax which is often the case with beeswax that smells of crayons or petroleum products. I hope this answers your questions and also gives some insight into our high quality beeswax!
Question: To be clear this is pure no additive wax? I’m looking for something food safe to protect metal from rusting
Answer: Yes, you are correct! Our beeswax is 100% pure, no additives, no artificial anything. Our beeswax is food grade and safe for metal applications. I hope this answers your question. Best wishes!
Question: Do you have this available in larger sizes? 5 lbs. or more. I need it to coat a leather costrel
Answer: We do! We offer a 5lb block on our website https://beeswaxco.com/product/5-pound-block-pure-beeswax/ , unfortunately it is not on Amazon just yet. I hope this helps. Happy making!!
Question: is this product edible
Answer: Our beeswax is food grade which is a step above cosmetic grade, and can be used in food applications. Our customers often use our beeswax to make caneles, gummy bears, licorice, and butcher board treatments. We also have a great blog post about it on our website for more info. Hope this helps! https://beeswaxco.com/bulk-beeswax/can-you-eat-beeswax/

User questions & answers

Question: Does this come with / or without plastic packaging? I’m considering making beeswax wrap to reduce plastic waste
Answer: Comes in plastic wrap
Question: Will this work in hair products
Answer: If this is as advertised - 100 percent beeswax without additives, yes. Please contact the seller and ask if there are additives. I say this because sellers don’t want to hear that a customer used the product for hair care and then the customer’s hair fell out. Hair loss can be from a thyroid condition, other hair care products like perms, and more. I recommend changing how the question is worded. The key words are additives and purity. Ask what additives are used to preserve the wax. Ask about the purity of the wax because some people are allergic to pollen. Hope this helps because I’d like to know the answer too.
Question: Is this good for making a slide slick
Answer: I use it on my pool cues. If you're seeking something for playground slides, I'd say it wouldn't be cost effective. If you're seeking something for weaponry, I'd say there are better options.
