3 best cosmetic beeswaxes

Cosmetic beeswax is a natural wax produced by honeybees (Apis mellifera) primarily for the construction of their honeycomb cells. It is widely used in various cosmetic and crafting applications due to its unique properties. Here's what you should know about cosmetic beeswax:

  1. Natural Origin: Beeswax is a natural substance secreted by worker bees. They produce it from the wax glands on their abdomen. Beeswax is a sustainable and eco-friendly resource as it is harvested from beehives without harming the bees.

  2. Texture and Consistency: Cosmetic beeswax is solid at room temperature but becomes pliable when heated. This makes it an ideal ingredient in various cosmetic and crafting formulations, as it helps provide structure and texture.

  3. Cosmetic Applications: Beeswax is commonly used in cosmetic products such as lip balms, lotions, creams, and salves. It serves as a thickening agent, emulsifier, and stabilizer in these formulations. Its natural emollient properties help to moisturize and protect the skin.

  4. Candle Making: Beeswax is a popular choice for candle making due to its clean-burning qualities. Beeswax candles produce minimal soot and emit a natural honey scent when burned. They are often used in religious ceremonies and as decorative or aromatic candles.

  5. Crafting: Beeswax is utilized in various crafting projects. It can be melted and molded into shapes, making it useful for creating homemade candles, jewelry, and art projects. Beeswax sheets are available for crafting purposes, and they can be easily cut, molded, and decorated.

  6. Emollient Properties: Beeswax has emollient properties, which means it forms a protective barrier on the skin, helping to lock in moisture. This makes it a popular ingredient in lip products and moisturizers.

  7. Natural Fragrance: Cosmetic beeswax has a subtle, sweet fragrance reminiscent of honey. This fragrance can enhance the sensory experience in cosmetic and candle products.

  8. Color Variations: The color of cosmetic beeswax can vary from pale yellow to a deeper, golden hue. The color depends on factors like the bees' diet and the processing of the wax.

  9. Processing and Purity: To be used in cosmetics and crafts, beeswax undergoes a purification process to remove impurities and debris. Cosmetic-grade beeswax is typically free from contaminants.

  10. Allergies and Sensitivities: While beeswax is generally considered safe for cosmetic use, individuals with allergies to bee products should exercise caution. Always perform a patch test if you have concerns about skin sensitivities.

In summary, cosmetic beeswax is a versatile natural ingredient used in a wide range of applications, including cosmetics, candle making, and crafting. Its unique properties, such as texture, emollience, and fragrance, make it a valuable choice for both beauty and creative endeavors.

Product features

Mendini Viola

The Mendini viola has an impressive quality for the price, and is a remarkably affordable option for students who have never played the viola before and want to try it out for the first time. Here at Cecilio Musical Instruments, we understand that students have unique and diverse preferences. To better serve this diversity, our Mendini MA series of violas offers a wide variety of colors to choose from at exceptionally affordable prices. Both of our Mendini MA250 and Mendini MA350 violas have the same specifications and quality, but they differ in the type of finish used and the character of sound each one produces. The MA350 has a mellow and warm tone with a soft satin varnish finish to match, and the MA250 has a bright and vibrant tone and finish. Mendini viola includes a lightweight form fitting hard, a Brazilwood bow with unbleached genuine Mongolian horsehair, rosin, and a bridge making this package a great deal for beginners.

How to choose viola sizes

Our violas are available in 7 different sizes: 16.5", 16" (also known as full size), 15.5", 15", 14", 13" and 12". 16.5" viola is the biggest and 12" viola is the smallest. Most adults use 16" violas.

To measure what size viola best suits you, you need to know the length between your neck and the middle of your left-hand palm (when your hand is fully extended and raised perpendicular to your body, just like holding a violin). Most of the teachers prefer students to use the length from the neck to the wrist for measurement instead of the neck to mid-palm approach. The viola size determined by the neck/wrist approach would be the size that is more comfortable for students to hold. The viola size determined by the neck/mid-palm approach would be the biggest size students should use.

The following table lists the length of each viola size. Find your length using your preferred approach and use that to determine the size of viola to get.

User questions & answers

Question: any good recommendations for a wick for beezwax candles
Answer: When i received this item the bag was cut and pellets for the most part were missing. Tried to work with Amazon with no help from them or the seller. So to answer your question I had nothing to work with.
Question: Can this be used for finishing cutting boards
Answer: Yes
Question: Is the seller in the US
Answer: Yes, We are located in NY.
Question: is this product vegan
Answer: if you are trying to make a vegan product, do not use beeswax. Vegans will not by anything made with beeswax. It is not considered vegan. Use candelilla wax or carnuba wax. they are both derived from LEAVES as opposed to an insect or animal, which vegans want no part of. Don't use silk either because they think the silk worms are killed to make the silk. The silk I get, the worms are not killed so it is considered vegan. .... try telling that to a vegan though!

User questions & answers

Question: Is this wax from china? organic wax does not come from the usa
Answer: My package, unlike the product picture, says "Product of India." And if you've ever been to India, you'll recognize the smell.
Question: Since no chemicals are used in making honey pellets, why does is smell so artificial ? It has non of the natural honey smell what so ever
Answer: My guess is that we're smelling other rancid fats and waxes that the producer uses to "pad out" the product, assuming it contains any beeswax at all. I would characterize the smell as old, plant-based furniture polish without a trace of beeswax/honey smell. As for the other answers: first, real beeswax does indeed have a light honey smell--ask any apiarist or get access to the real stuff to compare; second, the smell is not from the bag and persists after sitting out for days.
Question: Does anyone know if this product can be used to make home made deodorant
Answer: Never heard of using beeswax in deodorant. But I wouldn't use this for anything. While the wax may be non-toxic, the bag reeks of chemicals which then permeate the product. This is my fave homemade deodorant: 3 tsp Arrowroot Powder (or cornstarch) 3 tsp Baking Soda 2 drops: Lavender Essential Oil 2 drops: Rosemary Essential Oil 3 drops: Vanilla Essential Oil Blend (NOW brand) * Mix thoroughly in a bowl, then pot in 2oz jar. Use a cosmetics pad to pull powder up & pat onto underarms.
Question: So is the beeswax naturally white or were naturally yellow and have undergone a process to be whitened
Answer: It is naturally yellow and it has undergone a natural active carbon filtration to discolor the beeswax. No additives or chemicals of any kinds are used in the discoloration process
