Answer:	I stopped using eggs because for some reason, the ice cream would freeze too hard. I now use: 1 cup cream, 2 cup half-and-half, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon vodka (helps the freezing), pinch of salt, pinch of cinnamon. It's great.

Question:	Why won't my lid stay on
Answer:	Because the plastic dasher/paddle gets warped (at first I thought it was from washing the paddle in the dishwasher, but I'm on my second machine after maybe five years and washing it in hot water after using it seems to have done the same thing so perhaps it's just from use) and so it doesn't revolve "flatly" in the circular groove in the clear plastic cover when it's placed on top. I find that eventually it seems to settle down and revolve evenly without any wobbling, so to speak. Rather than use tape, I've used a small but heavy pan with a base a bit larger than the top of the machine set on top of the clear plastic cover until it's revolving evenly - maybe the first five minutes of use. Other than that, and the need to use a hard - but not too hard: it has to have some flex - plastic utensil to remove the last of the frozen ice cream from the interior bottom and sides of the freezer bowl because it's made of aluminum and scratches incredibly easily, it's a terrific unit.
Question:	my machine will not freeze the mixture after the tub in freezer for a week. its like cold milk with some ice. two different batches same results.Why
Answer:	Quality ice cream from plain milk?? no way! I use half and half along with heavy cream and get the most delicious ice cream you can imagine! and in only 25 minutes. Also turn your freezer down. If your freezer is empty it may not even go to zero degrees! I clean and rinse the tub quickly and return it to the freezer quickly. Its still mostly frozen when I put it back in and only takes 2-3 hours to refreeze completely! I bought a second tub but never need to use it! This thing has worked perfectly for me and everyone loves my ice cream! The secret is in the better ingredients. more costly yes...but sooo worth it! My recipe: 3cups of half and half. 2cups of heavy cream. 1&1/2 cups of C&H sugar dissolved in the cream. 2 table spoons of imitation vanilla. 1 tiny pinch of salt. Try you will love it! Please don't order a round steak and expect a filet mignon. life does not happen that way. ENJOY!

Question:	Has anyone left the sugar out (or only used a couple of tablespoons)? How does the amount of sugar affect the texture of the finished product
Answer:	Short answer: no. Dissolved solids are what suppress the freezing point and sugars are your primary source of these. You can reduce sugars by substituting some other solids, like nonfat dry milk (make sure to get 100% skim milk solids). Is your goal reducing sweetness or reducing caloric sugar? If the former, change the sugars you use. Use a mix of dextrose (pure glucose) and table sugar. Dextrose is only 70% as sweet but has nearly double the freezing point suppression. If you want sweetness but no the sugar calories, a portion of the sugar can be replaced by non-digestible sugar alcohols. I'd recommend erythritol. But be careful; if you consume too much it can cause digestive discomfort. And it doesn't taste 100% like sugar. I wouldn't substitute more than 60% of the sugar or so.

Answer:	I bought this machine at an estate sale for $15. It looked like it had never been used. I just pulled it out after about 3 months. With no experience at all having made ice cream I watched some YouTube videos and decided on a custard base (made with egg yolks). I pour straight into the machine hot from the stove and in about an hour and 20 minutes I have soft serve ice cream. It’s the best I’ve ever had. The machine is a dream! It’s SOOOOO. Answer:	I haven't used the Iceless Igloo in the car. Since it arrived, I've had it plugged in to electricity upstairs at our home to use as a temporary refrigerator while our kitchen is being remodeled. It has done a wonderful job. ...It IS warm around the motor.

Answer:	I have a 110 outlet in my car and it shuts off with the car. I used the 12v port one night and car was dead next day. It runs so quiet it's hard to hear. But holds its cold overnight. I am very happy with it.

Answer:	Yes this is important. The Usable dimensions are 11"W X15"L 13" tall. The cooling unit is on one end and must be kept open inside and out. The 15"L takes this into consideration. The only thing that I did not like about this cooler is the lid strap, the lid will not stay open. I removed the strap and substituded a nylon boot lace cord and crimped eyelet electrical connections on each end and used 2 short sheet metal screws to attach to the inside of the cooler. Now it is the perfect cooler, I am very pleased with it. Hope this helps.

Answer:	You do not use ice with this cooler. It had a 110 volt power supply that plugs into the wall and a 12 volt cigarette lighter cord.

Answer:	Huge thanks to Chris for field testing and giving pertinent tech info. Repost from "conversation" button below: "I just got done testing it. It pulls 5 watts to start to fill the ice tray. Once the compressor kicked on my inverter cut out on solar. On ac at my house the max watts I saw was 210. Once things settle out it does go down to 130. My inverter is 2500 watts and is really old and I have smaller wires powering it so not the best test on solar. I can attest to this past weekend when it ran all weekend long on ac power. Ice all weekend and super fast rate. I would recommend this ice maker 100%" Thanks again Chris!
