The owner's manual that was included with the freezer stated that the freezer could not be placed in garage. After a lot of time on the phone with a very helpful amazon customer service representative, followed by an inquiry directly to Danby, I received confirmation from Danby that this unit is, in fact, garage ready. Apparently, the accompanying owner's manual has not been updated yet. The updated owners' manual can be obtained directly on the Danby website in downloadable form. Whew!!! I hope this can save future purchasers unnecessary concern and time spent researching the garage ready rating of this product.

Answer:	It's hard to say exactly, I hate to blame it on the transfers from trucks and the package handlers, but that's probably where it happens.
