Answer:	Mine were stainless with a protective white plastic film covering them to protect during shipping. Peel off the film.

Answer:	I bolted the control unit directly into my cabinetry over the range hood. No liner was required. Had to fit a transition piece to the existing ductwork, install the blower unit in the attic, and fit the ductwork to the blower and roof vent. Everything needed was included with the unit except the ductwork fittings and ductwork tape.

Answer:	The manual specifies either a 7" diameter round coming out the top, or the 10 x 3 1/4 out the back. The manual also says "NOTE: To use 6” round ducting, install a 3¼” x 10” to 6” round transition (not included). The performances may be affected." FYI, going from the 10x 3 1/4 to 6" round is a 13% reduction in duct area. I assume the manual would have said "Do Not" if it was not recommended.

Answer:	This fan allows cooking fumes to pass through a grease filter and a thin replaceable activated charcoal filter. It cannot absorb large amounts of cooking odors or smoke. You need a fan that is ducted to the outside to effectively remove cooking odors and smoke.

Answer:	That's correct. The air flows through the filter on the underside and out through the three columns of vent slats you see on the front of the range hood. There is no connection to other vents or ducts in a wall or through the roof.

Answer:	I'm not sure what your setup is, but when I did mine, I hardwired the hood into the existing black and white wires that were used in the old hood. Chances are that if you don't have the pre wired design that I had, you will need a power cord kit if you plan to physically plug the unit into a traditional wall socket.

Answer:	Model BW5030SSL Chimney Hood is made out of 430 Stainless Steel and has a brushed finish on the outside and bottom of the unit. The filters are made of aluminum and exposed on the bottom of the hood also.
