Answer:	Dear customer, thanks for your question. The dimensions without the glass is about 21 x 19.7 inch. By the way, we don’t suggest you to remove the glass. Without the glass, the internal structure will be exposed. And the product may be damaged during the process of removing the glass.
Question:	How quiet is the vent
Answer:	This fan has a history of the control board failing. I purchased two and after a month the it started turning off or on, and switching speeds all on its own. I should have read the reviews first, as it’s a common problem. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me they would send me the part. 2 weeks later I got a whole new range hood. From what I can tell, there is a detachable control board that can be replaced. Hope this helps!

Answer:	WARNING! This is much deeper than the older model and while GE guarantees a replacement fit for the stovetop, it may not fit an offset vent pipe, since there is no longer sufficient space to direct the flow of air properly.

Answer:	It is a low temperature option on the right back element, allowing you to melt butter or whatever without it burning. I have never used it though.

Answer:	The vent is very quiet on all 3 speeds. It is also very effective at removing steam, but especially at eliminating cooking fragrances. Or, as I say: it doesn’t smell like the Colonel was here after I fry chicken!

Answer:	This is just the range hood (despite the product description). You'll need to purchase the blower separately. We bought the Broan HLB11 1100 CFM In-line Blower and love it. We used a HVAC installer to mount the blower in our crawl space under the house.
Question:	If I buy a remote blower for under the house, how much depth is required for just the vent? i.e., how close to the vent can my slide-in range go
Answer:	FYI - this vent is not designed to be used with a slide in oven/range, it's designed to be used with a cooktop and would be mounted tight against the cooktop. Having said that, I did use it with a slide in range and needed 2 1/4" clearance between the back of the range and the vent. This could vary slightly depending on the shape of the back of the range you're using.

Answer:	No special type of hardware. There is optional bracket to secure into place sold separately which is not needed. It fit into my 30 in granite cutout perfectly. Wiring is a standard 220 wiring round steel or aluminum metal wiring harness running from my island square metal box to the stove wiring box black, white, red and green.
Question:	Can this item be set on a countertop
Answer:	Yes but it takes 2 people to drop it in place due to the glass top.
