Answer:	When mounted to the top you need to make sure they are perfectly aligned when the top is dropped. I had to adjust the alignment several times so they would close all the way and not grind. I would suggest moving the part that attaches to your top over left or right in tiny increments and retest. If you have problems with the screws wanting to go back in the same holes, use tooth picks to fill the hole. Push it in and break off as many as you can stuff in.

Answer:	The unit has its own DC adapter power supply. It is clean, essentially noise free. I believe it can also be plugged into a power outlet in your vehicle, though I haven't used that feature to date. Yes, it has its own little antenna which is about 12" in height and connects to the rear of the unit. My unit is left on 24/7, on the low power setting. I live in the country, range is ~1/4 mile. I send audio to it from an xmradio which is located in the basement with the unit. My 'shops' located in my outbuildings have receivers set to the freq so I get coverage/music where ever I decide to putz around in. I am very happy with this unit.

Or you can connect the mic to any radio receiver or whatever device has a mic input, and then connect the device output to the FS Transmitter. Technically it can be made to work great, but its the legal issues you should be concerned about. You would be broadcasting info from the Conference to everyone within a half mile or a couple of miles, depending on your Transmitter settings. The Conference host and presenters may have restrictions against that. And the FCC may become aware of your transmission, and prosecute for various public broadcast violations. You need to do serious research before pursuing this idea.

A bead can be run along the top prior to setting the bench, then again around the rim where the bracket touches the underside of bench.
