| Answer: | Please note that these don't always need to be replaced, sometimes they need to be serviced. Do not lube with a liquid oil or any sort of grease. They will act like a dirt magnet, collect lint and hair, and clog the bearing surface. If you have to lube do it with a dry graphic powder. I used what I had left over from cub scout pinewood derby axle lube. Available at scout shops or local craft stores. Works great. My dryer started "thumping". I purchased 4 replacement rollers. When the machine was disassembled I found a wad of lint on the lower rear right roller. Every time the roller rotated the lint wad would cause a thump. There was also a LOT of lint and hair around and covering the triangular keepers on both sides of all 4 rollers. I remover the hair, lint, then roller and cleaned the inside of the roller bearing surface and the shaft with rubbing alcohol. Then lubed the shaft with dry graphite and reassembled. Runs like new. No need for the new rollers at all. |
