Answer: When i installed mine it took a considerable amount of force. I had to push down till it snapped then had to pull forward it may slide a bit backwards when pushing down thats ok.

Answer: The five funtions are the lock mode, add garment, wash, rinse, spin. I found mine to not go past the fill and only ran in one direction, then stop and not unlock. The board was burnt up. Replaced it easily and it works great.
