| Answer: | Looks like both are Bemis with same basic features . I see the Independence comes in 4 size options, so I believe picking the right shape is your main priority. For Independence you can choose: Round/closed 7YR82300TC Round/open .............350...... Elongated/closed 7YE82300TC Elongated/open. ............350... I have the open front lid and recommend that shape because if you have any minor misalignment between the bumpers and your toilet bowl the opening allows for a little flexing so it will seat properly onto the inside edges of your bowl. | Answer: | Thank you again to all of you that wrote in about this dilemma...buy 2 inch or 3 inch rise I wish I had gone with a 3 inch to start it's really important to measure height of the toilet from the floor to the very top of the porcelain bowl before the seat is installed. The way this one's designed, it's perfect. If you have a 14.5 inch high bowl and you add the 2 inch riser, you will have 16.5 inches of height. They took everything into account. I'm going to take another week or two to decide if I'm just going to try to find a 4 inch riser seat with a lid for this model only. I did see one online a couple of weeks back, not able to find it today... |

I had to make some cutouts on the one I bought to clear the toilet seat hinges. After doing that it works fine. The lift is 5 inches from the top of the toilet bowl. |

I felt that this seat completely filled my needs without the hassle of removing the toilet seat. |
