Question:	Can this vent be placed behind the dryer? We have front load stackable, just curios if this should be on the side or can go directly behind
Answer:	It has to be placed so air can flow through it. So I would say it is a function of how much room you have got behind. We actually have ours attached to the outside vent that is under our patio roof but we have a house. I don't know if that's possible in your case.
Question:	Are the filters washable/reusable? How much use are you getting before they need to be replaced
Answer:	I read the comments below... As I am getting ready to order new filters. I have had this system for approximately 3 months and even ordered a replacement package of filters when I purchased it. I appreciate the suggestions as I have found the filters need to be replaced more often than noted. I have found this system to work well my only complaint is with the filters. I do laundry for my husband and I ..so not what I consider to be a lot. If possible, I believe the screen used with the filter should be smaller allowing more of the lint to be trapped by it instead of the filter.

Answer:	My opinion is, it is a waste of time & money.Mine crumbled and I never got it installed.Threw it away in anger!

Answer:	The short answer is that it should not fill with lint. If the dryer is operating properly, it will maintain enough air velocity to carry the lint through the exhaust system to the outside. Inside your clothes dryer manual there should be a chart which tells you the maximum length of run and number of 90 degree turns which the dryer can expel the lint effectively. This periscope helps the dryer by providing rigid structural metal support so that crushing at the exhaust of the dryer into the wall should not be an issue. Then you need to follow the rest of the exhaust system to the outside to make sure there are no impediments. Thank you for your question.
Question:	I have a depth of 33.5 and the depth of my new dryer is 30.25 will this help so that the dryer will fit in that depth
Answer:	This periscope can install within 2.5 inches of the wall. However, please see the image with the function venting distance dimensions. Your wall vent must be within 5 inches of the clothes dryer vent for this 0-5 periscope to help you. Also, the crimped end of the periscope must slide into the wall pipe in order to achieve the tightest fit. If your outlet is not within 5 inches, there are longer periscope dimensions 0-18, 18-29 and 29-50 which are available and may help.

Answer:	The Zero to 5 periscope is designed with a 4" diameter draw band collar that connects to a clothes dryer exhaust. The crimped fitting is designed to go into a wall exhaust pipe. The material and diameters of the wall exhaust pipes vary widely. The age of the home is usually not an issue. The diameter and material of the wall exhaust pipe can be an issue, so it is important to measure first. The wall pipe should ideally be a 4 inch connection so that our slightly smaller crimped fitting with insert into it. If the protruding wall exhaust pipe is aluminum, it can help to cut a slit in the wall exhaust pipe so that the crimped fitting will insert and then, if possible, a clamp can be tightened around the connection if there is access. Then please remember, this 0-5 Periscope only extends a total of 5 inches from the center of the clothes dryer exhaust to the center of the wall outlet pipe.

Answer:	No it does not. This is only part of an overall dryer piping system. This part is an outside vent that goes out through the wall of the home in a 4" diameter hole. This piece slides through the hole from the outside to the inside of the home and gets calked to the outside siding. The other end is an aluminum 4" pipe that connects to pipe within the home. Usually a dryer venting system consists of three major parts: a metal flexible hose that connects between the dryer and 4" dryer pipe, a aluminum or galvanized piping system of 4" dryer pipe and elbows to get the dryer exhaust to an outside wall, and this Deflecto dryer vent which gets the pipe outside and has a flapper and cage so that critters can't get into the home via the dryer vent.

Question:	Is this compatible with a shark vacuum
Answer:	Most online videos suggest going from the outside, but some from the inside. Regardless, you for sure want to disconnect the house from the wall and pull out the machine, because you will need to pull out the lint that you clean and you might want to clean the flexible house as well. I had to do mine from both the inside and outside, because there was some type of obstruction in the pipe that I was hitting. Hope this helps...

Answer:	Yes, mine came with a drill adapter. Fore warning you will need a pair of pliers to remove it from the rod after using. I found it easiest to hold the last rod with the pliers and put the drill in reverse. Make sure you have a good grip because you don’t want the rods going in reverse when they are still in the pipes. There is a chance you could unscrew one of the rods in the middle causing the brush to get stuck in the pipe.

Answer:	I felt that without the rubber gasket it would come off. It holds really tight with the gasket. Mine did come off without it. I slid the gasket onto the dryer first then pushed the ring onto it.

Answer:	No, it can't be reversed as others here have said, at least not without a lot of cutting and taping which sort of defeats the purpose. I had to return it and buy the 18-27 inch version instead.

Question:	Will this system cause thd dryer not to turn on
Answer:	I don't see why it would keep your dryer from coming on. I love mine so much, I got one for my daughter. I used it all last winter and then disconnected it and returned the air hose to the outside vent in the Spring. I just reconnected it yesterday to vent back inside, now that the weather is getting cooler. My dryer is about 6 years old, but my daughter's is only 2 years old and the deflecto dryer lint trap works great with both our machines. We are using it to keep all that heat and humidity inside for the winter while it is cold and dry outside. Hope this is helpful.

We have a super long coil attached so we open the garage door and leave it outside while using the gas dryer. We replace this vent every other year. It’s worked fine up until now, thankfully!

Question:	At the wall end, will this fit over the aldes 4 inch round spring loaded backdraft damper
Answer:	I don’t know for sure. My problem was after researching I found plastic will melt under those circumstances and are not recommended on dryers. The thin , flexible ones are not recommended either. Because of a short space the plumber cut from a formed duct to make it work. Much safer and won’t break like the previous one did.
Question:	I require a solution of the vent hose to the outside. My outtake vent-hole is glass block, also 4 inch. I want a secure connection, tight-fitting
Answer:	Connection to our vent attached to a metal connection. A rubber band is placed around the metal piece and when the piece slips on it grabs the rubber and stays on. Don't know if it would work in your case but there is a YouTube video that show it.
Question:	Once installed, can the ends be disconnected periodically, like once a year, to clean out lint? If so, do I need new rubber seals each time
Answer:	Absolutely, you can just pull it off the duct and clean out the hose and your ducting and put it back on with the same seal. The seal should stay on the duct and be just fine to reuse.

Answer:	Each one is 12 inches and yes with the brush it’s 30 ft. It worked great for our super long duct, only thing it didn’t do great with the 90 degree turns, we went up from the dryer then in from outside, then used a leaf blower and got everything out.
