In order to service the parts contained in this kit, the top must be raised and the front panel removed.

To raise hinged top

1. Disconnect power to or unplug dryer

2. Remove twoscrews from under lint screen. See

Figure 1

3. Push in the top locks with a putty knife. There is one lock 2-1/2" from each side. Lift the top as you depress the lock. Top is hinged at rear. See Figure 1

2-1. Remove door switch wiring and wiring clip from inside of

front panel.

2-2. Remove two screws from inside cabinet that holds the top of the front panel. See Figure 5.

2-1. Remove door switch wiring and wiring clip from inside of front panel

2-2. Pull the toe panel toward you and lift off

2-3 Release hinge springs from cabinet base

2-4. Loosen the twoscrews from inside cabinet that hold the top of the front panel. See Figure 5.

Drum Removal

1. If drum belt is not broken, remove belt from metal motor pulley. See Figure 6

NOTE: Drum must be supported when removing belt

2. The drum can then be lifted through the cut-offs on the front flange of the cabinet sides. See Figure 6

3. Vacuum accumulated lint inside the dryer, taking care not to damage or disconnect any wiring from electrical parts

Installation Procedure Using Parts in this Kit

1. Remove support brace(if so equipped) from left-hand support roller. See Figure 7

2. Remove triangular rings from shafts by using a

screwdriver to pry the ring off the shaft, and remove the rollers. See Figure 7.

3. Install new rollers. Reinstall support brace. New triangular rings and clip are provided in kit

Reassembling the Dryer

1. Install the new idler pulley into the baseplate by positioning it in slots aligned with the motor pulley.

2. Check the wear on the white plastic ring inside the drum opening. If extreme wear is noticeable, replace ring

3. Place the new belt around the drum with the grooves facing the drum.

4. Install the drum and make sure it is resting on the

support rollers

5. Pass the free loop of the belt through the idler bracket and under the pulley. The belt is then looped over the motor pulley. See Figure 8

WARNING: Fire Hazard

Never operate dryer without rear drum seal/t in place. Align rear drum seal as shown

below. Failure to follow these Instruction scan result in death or fire

6. Reassemble the front panel to cabinet. Make sure door switch wiring is connected to the door switch on front panel. Check the wiring and make sure it is free from the revolving drum.

7. Place a small screwdriver or putty knife under the seal and on top of the bulkhead. See Figure 9.

8. Tum the drum by hand one full turn( counterclockwise)making sure the entire rear drum seal is riding on top of the ridge on the bulkhead and not tuned under.

9. Reassemble the dryer.

10.Reconnect power or plug in dryer.

Answer:	it is all based on model number. most of the regular dryers use different part number 279834
Question:	The picture shows a metal bracket and screws and mine did not come with those
Answer:	Possibly. Look closely at your coils, and the picture shown. Earlier models use two separate coils, and the newer models use a joined coil. Although they work exactly the same, they mount differently, so they cannot be interchanged. My own dryer is an Amana, and uses this coil kit. Ps. Often, if the coil is bad, the valve will open for one cycle, then will not open again. So the dryer will begin to heat, then get cold.
