Answer:	I have it, and it's fast for detection so I have no worries for the average person (90%) who is going to rob you they WILL be seen and recorded...but a "smart" robber will have a 25 dollar wifi jammer to disrupt your network and your neighbors to get past it..but then you pair it with the ring alarm and as long as the cell signal is not jammed an alert should go off. I had a relo link camera, budget and with an SD card but it ate batteries and sometimes not record every event. This is a great device if you want easy and convince...but the best devices are expensive and wired only with a battery backup.

I had my ring video doorbell 2 in its place by the door when hurricane Irma came through last year, and forgot that the doorbell was there until about 4 hours into the worst of the northeastern bands with the steady high winds and hang reason blowing sideways... which were blowing to the east - right at the front of our house. So at the point where I realized the doorbell was still outside, our power and internet were out but the battery was still powering the doorbell and I was worried about the internal electronics, but I took it inside, too out the battery, and put it on the counter and forgot about it for a few days until things started to settle down, and then the power finally came back on. so at that point, it was the Moment of Truth when I went and put the doorbell back in its place and when it reestablished its connection with the internet, every aspect of the doorbell worked just fine. It's been a year now since Hurricane Irma passed through Florida, and all the functions of the doorbell are still working just fine: the battery longevity, the speakers, the microphone, the infrared lights, and the camera lens are all fine. One other important thing to mention: our front door faces west and is right near the corner of the wall to the garage, which faces south. So, it goes without saying that it can handle the worst of Florida's relentless sun and humidity through the summer like a champ!!

Answer:	Absolutely...the selection of tones are very loud! But Suggest putting a second receiver around where you normally sit.
Question:	Why pay double for ring elite, pay for installation of poe ethernet wire? isn't ring pro with wifi good enough? anything i am missing something
Answer:	On my units, to change the transmitter batteries you have to pop the back off the unit, undo two screws to remove the circuit board from the case, change the battery, then remount the circuit board in the case, then put the back on.

Answer:	One day after installing a Ring 2 , Rings notification came up to sign up for a plan. There is no workaround to get access to the Ring devices functions as any attempt leads back to the notification screen. Be aware that ring is useless without the basic plan at $30.55 per device.

Answer:	Yes. The product names are VERY CONFUSING so pay careful attention. This is the second gen of the RING DOORBELL, the standard, "entry-level" version of the product. It has a built-in battery, which means, in order to recharge the doorbell, you have to take the entire doorbell off. The RING 2 is the upgraded product, which has a "quick switch" battery. I have 2 batts, keep one charged so I can swap them as needed. RING 3 is the upgraded, new version of RING 2. Essentially the same with a couple new features. Hope that helps.
